When the need rises, so do we.
In 2025, we reached over 310K people — including more than half in emergency situations — across 33 countries.
At the same time, we expanded our work for the ocean, with new partnerships and the opening of our Marine Conservation Center at Ocean Cay. Because supporting people and the environments around them goes hand in hand.
Today, we launch our Annual Report — a look at the actions behind it.

A new chapter begins with EXPLORA III 💙

As the newest ship joins the fleet, we’re proud to unveil our presence on board.

Guests can now discover the MSC Foundation through immersive storytelling, interactive experiences, and virtual reality in our dedicated Area, bringing them closer to our mission and the impact of our programmes around the world.

Selected items from our Buy for Good collection are also now available at the Journey Boutique, helping create a lasting impact for people and planet.

From abandoned mine to ocean paradise. This is the story of Ocean Cay. 🏝️

📍 Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, The Bahamas

In 2015, Ocean Cay was a former aragonite sand mining site. Decades of industrial activity had left the island and its surrounding waters in need of serious restoration. What happened next took years of work, scientific collaboration and a genuine belief that nature, given the chance, can come back stronger.

Nearly 5,000 trees planted. 75,000 indigenous plants, flowers and shrubs restored. A 64 square kilometre marine restoration programme, loggerhead sea turtles returning to the waters, and a Super Coral Programme pioneering heat-resilient coral reefs built to withstand climate change.

Today, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve has been officially designated a Hope Spot by Mission Blue, the global network of places recognised as critical to ocean health, founded by legendary oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle. Nature had not given up. Neither did we.

A coral reef is a living ecosystem — and like any living thing, it can face illness.
Diseases such as Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) in the Caribbean can cause rapid tissue loss and the decline of coral colonies, making early detection and intervention essential.
At Ocean Cay, our team dives beneath the surface to support coral health through monitoring and targeted antibiotic treatments. 🪸

What’s one thing sharks can’t live without? Coral reefs. 🦈🪸

Many shark species, including the Nurse shark, the Reef shark, and even the Whale shark, depend on healthy coral reefs for food, shelter and thriving marine ecosystems.

It’s a reminder that in the ocean, every species is connected — and that restoring coral reefs helps support the rich web of life they sustain.

The Mediterranean’s greatest ally isn’t a species. It’s an ecosystem. 🌊
Seagrass (Posidonia oceanica) meadows are the lifeblood of the Mediterranean, yet they are continuing to disappear at an alarming rate.
The @mscfoundationofficial and @mission_blue support Asociación Vellmarí’s La Gran Pradera initiative, which works to restore Mediterranean seagrass meadows, one of the most valuable ecosystems in the region. Because there’s no better way to mark the International Day of the Mediterranean than by taking action for its future.💙
