I am insane. I have a delusional belief in myself that I can make things happen. I put myself out there. I turn ideas into real things. At times I would stop and just think of how silly this might look to someone on the outside. But then I remember all of the people on the inside that know me and just understand that this is something I’ve always done! ♥️

Beginnings are scary. Trying something new in public sounds like someone’s worst fear. I’m taking them head on because this is what I’m here to do!

Until next time…too-da-loo!!!! ✌🏼

Trunk decorating is not for the weak! The hardest part was figuring out how to make stuff stay. I used weights from a weighted vest, twine, tape, and who know what else to get everything to stay in place. Shoving a balloon arch in the car - 10/10 on saving time. #msdesishalloween #trunkortreatideas #trunkortreat #teunkdecorating @uptownankeny taken in Uptown Ankeny by @msdesismixedupkitchen

My first trunk or treat @uptownankeny was a HIT! Thousands of kids had to reach into the “mixed-up googly eye cake” to get a treat. I’ll show you how I made it soon!

Bringing Ms. Desi to life and meeting thousands of kids felt like I was in another universe. My face hurts from smiling so hard!

Yesterday was straight up magic ✨ Thank you to everyone who came and experienced my mixed-up cake @uptownankeny trunk or treat this year! It was so much fun designing an experience that felt like my show but in real life! I am loving this!

I’m creating little packages to hand out at my local trunk or treat. I could just give out candy, but I want it to be memorable! 💛 by @msdesismixedupkitchen

Little by little things are coming together. I keep telling myself that I’ll look back at these days and be thankful that I kept going, even when it seemed impossible and sometimes pointless.

But here I am! Painting a fake cake to make a scene for my trunk or treat display. It’s going to be a giant donut, cookie, and waffle cake. A perfect mixed-up creation that would come out of my kitchen!

Their laughter! One of the greatest moments.

I visited a pre-school classroom and got to bring Ms.Desi to life for the very first time! We all got a chance to spin the spinwheel sisters, and we used our imaginations to come up with ideas!

Their silly ideas, giggles, and little brains at work motivated me in a way that I didn’t know was possible.

I just felt like I was exactly where I needed to be.

Keep going! by @msdesismixedupkitchen

I’ve been working on a new dream: Ms. Desi’s Mixed-Up Kitchen, a kids’ YouTube show where I get to combine imagination, creativity, food, and all the colorful joy that has always been at the heart of Sprink.

It’s taking much longer than I originally imagined. I’m balancing a big full-time job, being the best mom and wife I can be, and all the other pieces of a very full life.

But whenever I find 20 minutes, I work on it.

I write an idea. Edit a clip. Make a prop. Plan the next episode. Learn something new.

Some days, 20 minutes is all I have. But I’m learning that those little moments count. They add up. And slowly, they become something much bigger.

This page has been home to such an incredible community of bakers and creators, and so much of what I learned through Sprink is helping me build this next chapter. I’d love to bring you along as I explore a new kind of creative dream.

My Mom posted flyers all around my home town to make sure everyone knows that her daughter started a kids YouTube channel.

My mom has always had an unwavering belief in me, and it’s a big reason why I go after the things I do.

This time though is above and beyond. She’s handing out cards to families she sees at the grocery store. She’s telling every business she goes to about her daughter and asks if it’s okay to post a flyer. Can you imagine asking strangers to watch something or post something in their business?! The confidence and pride she has just has me in awe.

I love you mom.

And in your style, I’m asking everyone here to watch my new kids YouTube show @msdesismixedupkitchen!
