Last week, I had the opportunity to present to Delta Kappa (Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society) on what it looks like to apply academic and systems-based principles in business settings.

There’s something uniquely energizing about stepping back into the classroom—coming full circle to the roots that shaped how I think, teach, and lead.

It’s your first week of grad school.

You walk into class and recognize the same faces you met during orientation. Over time, those classmates become the people you study with, practice skills with, and lean on during the challenging moments of training.

That’s the idea behind our cohort model in the Master of Science in Family Therapy program at Friends.

Instead of taking classes with different groups every semester, you move through the program with the same cohort—learning, growing, and preparing for your work as therapists together.

By graduation, many students say their cohort felt more like a team than a class.
