4 months ago I set a goal…

I didn’t know what I was doing or what my plan was, I just made a promise to myself. I promised to give it my all. I promised to push through and not give up. I promised that I would be successful.

Today, I kept that promise to myself and completed my first 5k! I wasn’t the fastest or the cleanest runner, but I did my best. I didn’t fail. And, most importantly, I didn’t break my promise to myself. 🥹 taken in Washington D. C. by @msgreyeyes

9/20/2004 is when it all started for us and the rest is history. There isn’t anything I can share that I haven’t before. You’re everything that I didn’t know that I needed and I’m so grateful that we took a chance on us. I love you with every fiber of my being. 😘

Last night we had to make a decision that we never expected to make so soon. He was fine one moment and in an emergency situation a minute later. I wish there were more words to share, but we are completely shattered and heartbroken. 💔

5K number 3 ✅

Today was a challenge. Rainy night and rainy morning. The course was a mix of pavement, gravel, and grass (aka mud). This combo resulted in an uneven and slippery run which slowed down my pace a bit. But I didn’t stop moving and thanks to @babranch23 cheering me on, I crossed that finish line. 💪🏼

You know I always have to come and get your space brightened up with some pink and green for the August holiday! 🩷💚 I forgot my trimmers, so I’ll be back soon to get that area cleaned up better for you, but I washed off your headstone, at least.

You’ve been speaking to me so much over these past couple of weeks - from the cardinal that’s been in and out of our backyard to the butterfly that landed on my windshield on my way to see you. 🦋 Thank you for these moments, they mean SO much to me. 🥹🥰

I felt so close with you yesterday - I really needed that. Sitting out there having breakfast and coffee with you and talking to you felt like it comforted me in a way I never expected. (I even made it through without bawling my eyes out!🥹) This isn’t how I ever envisioned celebrating with you, but this is all I have left so I cherish it. 🥰

Rocky is 13!!! 🎉🎉

Another trip around the sun - another birthday to celebrate our fighter! 🥳🎊🍾🙌🏼🥰

He may have a bit more grey hair and he may slow down his pace on our regular walks most days. But when his paws touch a trail…he forgets EVERYTHING! Watching him out on the trail today made us both smile from ear-to-ear. I’d do anything in the world to see him this happy - and today Rocky was HAPPY! In fact, when we got back to the car he didn’t want to get in…Bridge had to pick him up and put him in the car and, even then, then he tried to jump back out! 🤣🤣🤣 I guess our little country boy enjoyed his day!

Time to get birthday cake 🍰 wasted and have a nightcap toy 🧸 before he passes out snoring for the rest of the night! 😅🤣

Another 5k in the books! 🏃🏼‍♂️💪🏼🏅

This time I got to run through a scenic trail in Georgetown - aside from the humidity, it was so nice! 😍 Of course, my personal cheerleader/motivator/photographer @babranch23 was sure to be up and out with me this morning, which humbles me every time! 🥰❤️

I set a goal of 45:00, or less, which would be over 3 mins faster than my previous race - and I MADE IT!! Official time: 44:48 🙌🏼 For someone who has never been thin or athletic or fit…I am beyond proud of myself.
