Happy Birthday to my beautiful, intelligent, creative, talented, and favorite sister! I think this was taken in the early 80s, but we have spent so many decades together that it is hard for me to pinpoint. I love you, and your little dog, too. by @msharrietharris

On the first truly cold morning here, the brutal reality that his souvenir gift from Peru, is not genuine alpaca, but an acrylic knock off, hits home. by @msharrietharris

Wandering trick or treaters? No, they are off to the polls. A few undecided voters, but they will make up their mind before they get there. #vote by @msharrietharris

Pooka says his work is done. Now it’s up to you. While his former work may have been more expressive, he feels message clarity is more important this year. Please vote. Use your power wisely. #happyhalloween and #vote #vote #vote #sos by @msharrietharris

A dear friend sent me his current view, and I sent him mine. We are both living the dream, just different dreams. by @msharrietharris

I mentioned to Pooka that October 17th, is African Grey Appreciation Day. He said, “Don’t be a sap, Harriet! That’s every day, around here.” He sometimes feels the need to level with me. I showed him the photo that I had intended to post, and he said, “Go ahead, Baby. I look good!” #africangreyappreciationdayornot #africangrey #autumn by @msharrietharris

I’m a nervous flyer. No matter how short the flight I arrive a damaged piece of fruit. The need of strong coffee, and a walk to feel whole is real. We walked through parks, down boulevards, and made our way to Lima’s edge. With therapeutic beverages in hand we stood watching wave, after wave. It was not the Pacific Ocean, certainly not the Trump Ocean, but the Mar de Grau. We were a world away, and above our heads paragliders rode the wind like giant seagulls. There was not a swimmer in sight. There are better swimming beaches we have been told. Many surfers were just out of frame to the north. We did not come to Peru for this. But, this was very nice. #lima #peru #mardegrau #jetlag by @msharrietharris

Looking for shade in #lima by @msharrietharris

Walking off jet lag on our first day in Lima, we ran into street art. A gigantic and arresting mural of Gustavo Cerati popped out between pillars we passed on the way to the ocean. #streetart #gustavocerati #lima by @msharrietharris

A mysterious but refreshing fruit enjoyed on the train to Aguas Calientes. #sweetgranadilla #peruvianfruit #machupicchubound by @msharrietharris

Photos through the airplane window. Miami >Lima > Miami. A beautiful omen for a marvelous trip. Rainbow above Miami. An equatorial sunset. A sci-fi last gasp view of the Andes, flying over Panama, looking back towards Columbia (perhaps). Heading home. So much seen, so much left unseen. Our trip to Peru was a beaut! by @msharrietharris

In search of lost Incan gold! Lima gold, @museolarco , Sacred Valley gold, #rústicaurubamba , Aguas Calientes gold, passing the love lock bridge, on our way to Machu Picchu, and Cusco gold, @jwmarriottcusco Treasure everywhere we turned. I will post far too much soon. Prepare yourself for alpacas, clouds, forests, mountains, mystical places, and some bumpy roads, on the road to wonder.#peru by @msharrietharris
