Today I had time to rest, recover, and reflect. Yesterday was the most challenging thing I have done both physically and mentally, but I have never been more proud of myself.

Over the last 18 weeks and 100+ hours of running I have learned to be thankful for the body I have and all that it can do. It’s so easy to hyperfixate on the things we don’t like about ourselves that we don’t appreciate all that we can do. Each and everyday it’s me versus me and each day I have to decide what effort can I put in today that is going to make me a better version of myself?

I have also realized how lucky I am to have so many incredible people in my life. From friends and family that were on the sidelines cheering me on (and supported me through the whole training process), to those who FaceTimed in, my coach who got me to this point, and especially all those that tracked me and texted me throughout the race. You are what kept me going.

I hope to continue to do things to better myself, but for now I am going to take a couple days to rest. by @msheltonn_
