Today I visited Táawila Elementary School and met with Dr. Rosenda Pike as a part of Menifee Union School District’s Community Leaders in Schools event. It was a great opportunity to learn more about how our partners at MUSD are approaching learning. Táawila has nearly 900 students and Dr. Pike isn’t just their principal, she’s an active partner in the school. As we visited classrooms the students knew her and she knew them by name. Importantly, she and many other administrators and teachers came through on a promise today. They held an inflatable costume race to recognize the students for their recent fundraising goals. Rosenda has extensive experience in education including teaching at California Baptist University and serving as associate dean. We connected on how we support teacher development and avoid burnout. We discussed the challenges of driving toward achievement for our students and she shared ways we, at @msjcedu, can partner and support their work.

Thank you to Dr. Jennifer Root for the invite and to Dr. Pike and her team for the hospitality! taken in Táawila Elementary School by @msjcedu
