I really tried to make this a short video but it just wasn’t possible. I’m sharing this on social media because I want to encourage others to always advocate for yourself.
There is an increasing rate of colon, rectal, and anal cancers among women. My cancer was initially dismissed as GI issues and if I hadn’t pushed I wouldn’t be receiving the excellent care that will save my life. Always keep pushing and asking until you find doctors who listen and take you seriously. It can be embarrassing to talk to people about symptoms especially when you start to feel them. Don’t let the area of your pain or discomfort keep you from getting checked! It literally could save your life.

Lastly, Chemo and radiation will start next week, and I am ready to take on this next journey. I have an incredible Oncology team at John Hopkins and I especially have the most amazing family and friends and support system. More to come as I navigate what’s next. Thank you for listening… and please be kind to each other! ❤️

I had such a beautiful self-care experience at Javan Wellness in DuPont with Bre. She took the time to understand my needs and catered my facial specifically to accommodate me and my chemo journey. That meant so much to me.
For that hour, I was able to just relax, breathe, and not think about anything else. I didn’t realize how much I needed that moment until I was there.
I’m so grateful for the care, kindness, and peaceful experience. Sometimes you just need an hour to be still and let someone take care of you.
Thank you @skindollbre and thank you @javanwellness for making me feel so comfortable and cared for.

This past weekend, the Hokies were playing here in the DMV at UMD in College Park, MD. It was the perfect way to practically plan a Virginia Tech family reunion in our backyard! 🧡🦃 Great food, great company, lots of dancing, and plenty of laughs. There’s nothing like gathering with friends to cheer on the Hokies (as well as hang with some of our Terps fam) —We may not have been in Blacksburg, but we brought the energy as if we were in Lane. It was such a fun day, with great memories, and a VT Victory to top it all off! Let’s gooooo, Hokies! 🏈🧡🦃

Heading to Philly for the game this weekend? Or just an avid sports fan who wants to update their gear? Had such an amazing time last night at the JayZ25 concert. These are my tips as a regular event goer as well as feedback from guests from night 1.
Jay-Z Concert tips for those going tonight for Night 3:

ARRIVE EARLY!!!! Gates open at 6. You need to plan to be there around then. Reports from concert goers have stated it’s taken 45 mins to an hour and a half for them to get in.

Night 1 - Jay-Z started about 9:27pm
Night 2 - Jay-Z started at 9:11 - to commemorate the Blueprint album being released on 9/11 as well as honor victims of 9/11
Night 3 - don’t assume a later start time! Be in there early!

I didn’t get through until 9:10pm just in time for the 9:11 start time. I got to the VIP entrance at 8:30. It did take that long and there were still hundreds if not thousands of people still outside trying to get in.

Those with VIP access or any of the home plate access tickets, it is still a long process! There are several security checks and they scan everyone’s ID information as well as verify tickets and the original holders several times. You are also given so many bands, lanyards as well as gift that it is a tedious process.
Arrive early to partake in the complimentary drinks and food in the lounge. There are also private bars near to the sections so you don’t need to go to anything on the concourse.

Those in general floor seating, that line wrapped the entire stadium and had the reported longer wait times up to an hour and a half. Many people missed beginning of the shows on both nights because they were still in line.

Take the subway!!!! It will be your quickest and most convenient option. You can pay using tap on your phone too.

If you don’t know how to navigate the trains, please utilize the train feature on Apple or Google maps. It’s so easy!

Part of the shows experience is being there early for the DJ sets. So just arrive early and play it safe. Tonight will probably be even bigger than the last 2 nights.

Lastly, when Jay-Z says Goodnight, DO NOT LEAVE EARLY! That’s only a transition. You will miss the second half of the show! #jayz #yankeestadium #jayz25 taken in Yankee Stadium by @msjulesmcguire

Honestly, We were too busy working on campaigns, posting outfits and food, and having a darn good time to have drama - even when we really did forget the champagne! The power of editing! 😆 The trip was nothing short of amazing and was an epic way to celebrate @occasionallyluxe birthday!
The house @30a.occasionallyluxe is beautifuly set in a perfect location and a must rent the next time you go to 30-A. The sunset dinner and fire pit on the beach set up by @30aglow was truly unforgettable and one of the most beautiful experiences to have with everyone. Other amazing activities and bites from the weekend also included
