“Almost!”
“So close!”
“Oh it’s ok, it’s your first year.” (my personal fave)

Well-intentioned words, but they don’t tell the whole story.

We began this journey with one simple goal: Ronin’s love for TKD. We didn’t chase medals or podiums, but only growth, discipline, and giving his absolute best every time he stepped on that mat. As parents, all we ever wanted was for him to feel a true sense of belonging.

In this first year as a black belt, Ronin exceeded every expectation. From a successful youth season to stepping confidently into cadet, from our very first team trials to earning SILVER in selection round, he met every challenge with determination and humility.

At just 11 years old, he’s learned to tune out the noise and stay anchored to his purpose. Nationals didn’t unfold the way we hoped, but that moment doesn’t define him. His work ethic, resilience, and respect for TKD do.

He belongs here.
He trains not for accolades or validation, but for the love of the sport.
For the love of Team Forge.

And for that, we couldn’t be prouder.

None of this happens without the people who pour into him every day. Our deep gratitude to Master AJ, Master Alex, and Master Michael for your guidance, belief, and for protecting the joy that brought him here (and yes, for letting him keep all his limbs).

And to all the parents, coaches, masters who stood beside us (especially to Team Forge and amazing athletes, Master Del, Master Joe, Master Zoie) thank you for reminding us we are never alone. You’re all such a blessing to our family, and we’re endlessly grateful.
