Yesterday meant more than just crossing a stage and receiving a degree.

It meant everything to me because my two sons were there watching their mother finish something she once thought life would never allow her to. Growing up, I was aggressive, hard headed, and headed down roads that could have destroyed my future. I made mistakes, I moved off emotion, and I carried a lot of anger. But becoming their mother changed me.

These two boys gave me purpose.
They gave me a reason to slow down, to think different, to fight different, and to become a better woman than I used to be.

No matter what happens in life, they come first.
They are my reason behind every sacrifice, every tear, every sleepless night, and every accomplishment.

I have always prided myself on protecting them…
but somewhere along this journey, they started protecting me too.
Protecting my heart.
Protecting my mind.
Protecting my why.

Everything I do is for them.
Yesterday that degree had my name on it, but the truth is… this win belongs to all three of us. ❤️🎓 by @mskendra_2u
