NO KINGS!!! So, an amazing thing happened this morning. In deep red, rural Hernando County, Florida, over 1,000 people showed up for today's protest. One of the organizers said a drone from a local NBC affiliate was there filming us. (I took these pictures right after I got there. It got way more crowded later on, but because it was really windy and I had to have a death grip on my sign, I never took any more.😂)

The diversity of the crowd was really cool to see. I met a gentleman who had had a triple bypass. He said when it got too hot he'd leave, but felt he had to be there. Another woman had her gallbladder removed - last week! She sat in a chair, but she was there. A couple saw I was there by myself and introduced themselves, and we ended up hanging out the whole time. People moved through the crowd, handing out water bottles - thank God because I left mine in the car.🥵

I was kind of nervous about the traffic passing us since our governor told people they could drive into protesters, but surprisingly, the majority of the drivers and passengers were supportive; honking and waving, filming us, or even holding their own signs out the windows.

Of course, there were others who let us know what they thought about us, I don't think I've ever been given the finger that many times in my life. (I would just blow them a kiss. 😘) The only real asshole move was by a guy in a huge pickup who slowed down as he drove past, and black smoke blew all over us - but giant protest signs make great fans. And we had a few people walking through carrying opposing flags, but hey, it's still, at this moment, a free country.

Here are some fun facts I didn't know before holding my phone an inch from this little dude's face 😳

This is a Green Lynx Spider, named for their bright green body color and capability of running very fast and jumping on it's prey like a cat.
They don't build traditional orb webs to catch prey. Instead, they use their silk to build hunting platforms or perches on plant, where they wait for prey to approach and pounce on it with lightning speed, immobilizing it with venom.
They are excellent hunters and can leap long distances to catch prey.
They very seldom bite humans, and when they do, its venomous bite, though painful, is not deadly; but can cause redness and swelling.
