This is one of my favorite scenes in my directorial debut @iwmymfilm.
In 2007 I was filming "White on Rice," an indie feature in Salt Lake City with filmmaker @thedaveboyle. During my days off, I escaped the heat by seeing the movie "Once" in the theater -- and I loved it so much, I saw it 3 times. It deeply impacted me as an actress, and when it came time for me to step behind the camera for IWMYM (with Dave as my producer) I paid homage to the songwriting scenes between Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, by letting real-life musicians @gohnakamura and @elegantbright do their thing as the camera rolled. It felt magical; it's why I love indie film so much. by @mslynnchen

This is a big one for us 🥹 9 years ago, Slant’d started as a dream – a handful of post-it notes and a wish to build something that didn’t exist yet for AAPI storytellers. Now, we’re ready to do something we’ve never done before: publish our very first books.
🎧 Eternal: Tales of an East Side Pinoy is @itsdjeternal’s love letter to the East Side San Jose that raised him.
🥟 Soup Dumplings Don’t Eat Cheese is @mslynnchen’s story about learning to love yourself exactly as you are.

And this video? Shot and produced by Jeff Wu and Kelsey Tang of @popeyemedia.la – who are also Eternal’s co-authors. That’s Slant’d in a nutshell: a fully volunteer-run press where the community doesn’t just tell the stories, they help build everything around them too.

@kickstarter is all or nothing – if we’re short by even $1, we don’t get to print these books. Every pledge, big or small, gets us there. We can’t wait to share these with you. 💛

For the last 10 years I’ve watched and marveled as @djformgreen aka Abe Forman-Greenwald aka my life partner create, film, sculpt and will this documentary into existence. Thrilled to share that today via @buzzfeed and @gravitasventures everyone can now witness what I’ve seen and lived through Abe’s lens - an incredible story of friendship and love and yes even Britney Spears. Congrats Abe, @djmattystopes and Brother Orange in China and thank you to everyone who helped carry this movie across the finish line like our manager @authenticmgmt @lizzy5445! Watch on Apple TV, Amazon, and VOD. by @mslynnchen
