When the post-gig adrenaline is too strong for me to sleep, but my brain is too mushy for real original thought. Re-wrote a verse of the iconic @sam_macpherson song from *her* perspective.

NEWS FROM ME: Yesterday I finished an EMT training program! I’ve been curious about medicine since @b.sober ‘s (happy bday btw🎉) accident last year and this was a very interesting way to dip my toe in the water. Got to ride around in an ambulance, and hang out with some diabetic ulcers and a LOT of sepsis. I may do absolutely nothing with it, or maybe I’ll go to med school, who tf knows.

TODAY, I’m headed to London to work on some music I love with some people I love!! More on that soon 😉 It’s been a weird time of figuring out what makes me happy and what gives me purpose, but for the moment it feels like I’m getting to do it all, and that feels magical. Sorry for all of the messages, texts and emails I’ve ignored—I’m incredibly self involved❤️

Oh I also moved, sold my car, got diagnosed with ADHD and did some open-sea sailing.

HOPE YOU’RE ALL DOING WELL

Love,

MM

It’s that time again. When I return to social media after a long unexplained absence, beg forgiveness from the algorithm and once again plead for your attention. LONDON! I’m playing a show @handelandhendrix on Oct 22nd. It’s going to be intimate and reverent and I would love for you to be there. This is my last show in London for the foreseeable future, definitely for 2025. Any cover requests??

We live in an attention economy. Along with the infinite bad actors fighting for our time and our money, there are a similarly endless number of altruistic causes desperate for and deserving of our support. So it feels pretty f*cking weird to throw myself into the mix of voices asking you to listen. But I hope that for someone who does take the time to listen, this song isn’t more noise and instead it offers some hope, some comfort, some solidarity. My other goal is to draw attention to the inequality within the voices being heard most (and paid most). Sexism is rampant in this world, the music industry is no exception. So I made you a playlist of some women I listen to who continue to inspire and educate me through their art.

tldr: LISTEN TO WOMEN.

I would love to grow this playlist so leave a comment with any woman-empowering artist or song that I should check out!

A special thank you to @the_forty_five and Charlotte Gunn for listening to me and using their platform to amplify my voice ❤️

From beginning to end, one of my favorite stories to have lived. Thank goodness it’s not quite over yet. Catch my voice on Bathsheba & Him (out today!!) and the full part 4 (out August 15th). I LOVE @bastilledan AND THE WHOLE TEAM AND I HAVE LOVED WORKING ON THIS ALBUM AND I MISS TOUR SO MUCH.

“She Will” out today via @mahoganysongs

Words from Moira

“We live in a time of short attention spans and even shorter tempers. Global leaders wage wars on social media and rage bait pays the bills. Unfortunately, this is not a “kumbaya” song meant to help us get along. Instead, “She Will” is an anthem to outlast any trend or politician’s term. Written on the day Roe v Wade was overturned, the song is a declaration: the war for women’s rights did not begin yesterday and it does not end tomorrow. We carry a torch lit by those who fought before us and we fight for the generations to come. change is inevitable.” by @msmoiramack
