Happy birthday to my husband, the love of my life and the calmest person in a house with James, Anthony, Ginger, Gonzo, Yoshi, and me. That’s twin four-year-olds, three dogs.
I have no idea how he does it.

Watching George be a dad is my favorite thing in the world. The boys don’t know how lucky they are yet, but they will. They get his patience, his steadiness, his laugh, all of it, every single day. So do I.

We fought so hard to become parents. The family we built on the other side of that is the thing I am proudest of in my entire life, and George is the reason it works.

35 looks good on you, Georgie. Here’s to the next 35.

Don’t know how we got here so fast, but what we do know is that these two are our proudest accomplishments. We are so immensely excited to watch you grow, learn and continue to be kind, caring, funny, and intelligent boys in this world. There is no guidebook to raising an aspiring astronaut and T-Rex but we promise to support you in whatever and whoever you want to be because we love you with our whole hearts and that will never change. Happy First Birthday, Ginger!

Her whole litter came to our yard and we stood there acting like we were going to make a decision. She picked us. We just agreed with her.

A year later she’s bigger than James and Anthony, which the boys have not fully accepted. She sleeps at our bedroom door every night running a very strict guest list. Boys only. She’s Gonzo’s girlfriend. Yoshi tolerates her, and she’s decided that counts as love too.

She hates when we leave. Loses her whole mind when we get back. She understands every word we say and I’m pretty sure a few we don’t. She’ll play until she falls over, then climbs on top of you for kisses and love.

The only female in this house, but acts more like the Queen. She’s the lady we didn’t know we needed. ❤️
