Hello, my dearest followers. My name is Alina, I live in New York City. I moved to US from Russia around 7 years ago and fell in love with this metropolitan city.
When I moved, I was working in sales with premium clients at R Simantov Fine Jewelry on Nantucket island. I immediately started to learn all about different types of personalities through selling jewelry and got hooked. Now that I am in sales for 10 years, I decided that my knowledge and experience will be helpful in romantically matching people. I have observed that in metropolitan cities people lack face-to-face communication and due to dating apps forgot how to flirt and build a romantic relationship.
All this miscommunication and loss of experience leads to people being chronically single. I can professionally help people meet their romantic partner through my step-by-step matchmaking process. Follow my instagram page to see my journey.

What are the responsibilities of a matchmaker?
1. Listen to client’s needs. During a consultation, I ask the client certain questions to assess the situation and listen to his/her needs and requests. Surprisingly, a lot of people know that they want a serious relationship but have never thought out what their ideal life partner is like - both looks and personality
2. Assess their past dating experiences and approach. Did the client just come out of a bad break-up? Is he/she ready to date and devote his/her time to the process? Do they have a free emotional space for the future partner?
3. Do a makeover and photo session if needed - this step is not a requirement. It is only needed if the client is open to it and wants/needs a bit of guidance in style
4. Giving dating tips and dating guidance The clients are coached during their dating journey and are being pushed out of their comfort zone. They are given tools to succeed in dating on their own - this step is also a la carte
5. Finding their matches - actual people that they described they want to date and setting them up for a date. Both parties privately provide feedback after the date to see if they are a match.

New York singles, fall is here. It’s time to get off the apps and back into the room!

One thing I see constantly as a matchmaker is that people can spend weeks swiping, matching, and texting—yet a few minutes of conversation in person can tell you so much more.

That’s why I love creating opportunities for singles to meet organically.

This fall, we’re bringing relationship-minded singles together in Manhattan for an evening designed around real-life connection.

If you’re single in NYC—or have a wonderful single friend who keeps telling you, “There’s nobody to meet”—send them our way.

Date: September 23, 2026
Location: LES, Manhattan

🎟️ Today is the last chance for Early Bird pricing, so grab your ticket: https://falleventmatchmaker.eventbrite.com

See you in soon!

Are we blessed to have modern technology or cursed?
The answer is NOT straightforward!

Let’s keep it balanced and remember about what is most important - humanity and connection.

We are hosting an in person event on September 23, 2026 in LES, Manhattan.

See details and RSVP via link in bio.

You’re a matchmaker, why are you posting your mushrooms? You wonder

About a week ago I was in a state I’d never visited in summer - Colorado, in a forest I knew nothing about, hunting for porcini (some of the rarest mushrooms to pick that are highly valuable).

Somehow I found a ton of them.

And it hit me — foraging is basically matchmaking.
You walk into a new forest with no map. No sign that says “mushrooms this way.” But over time you start noticing patterns — the right trees, the elevation, the moisture, what’s growing nearby. You learn to read a place.
Sourcing works the same way. New city, new industry, new social circle — I rarely know exactly where the right person is. But I’ve learned to spot the patterns. Which rooms to walk into. Who to ask. Which intro leads to the next one.

The other thing mushroom hunting teaches you: resilience. You can walk for an hour and find nothing. Two hours. You start second-guessing the whole forest. Then — one porcini. Then another. Suddenly you’re standing in the spot.

Matchmaking is identical. Fifty people who aren’t quite right, then one person who makes the whole search make sense.

The best matches never come from trying harder in the obvious places. They come from pattern recognition, curiosity, and refusing to turn back when everyone else would have.

Not sure if matchmaking made me a better forager, or the other way around. ❤️

So excited to be featured in DatingNews alongside other incredible professionals sharing advice on what it really takes to become a successful matchmaker. ✨

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned building Beau Monde Matchmaking is this:

“Some people will absolutely like you, some people won’t, and that’s OK because your vibe is not for everyone. You need to find your crowd.”

For me, finding my crowd meant building a real community — not just online, but in person.

I started hosting singles events because I genuinely love bringing people together. I’m still doing them today because there is so much you can learn about someone when you see them interact naturally in a room.

That connects to another quality I believe is essential in matchmaking: emotional intelligence.

A great matchmaker needs to understand more than someone’s checklist. You need to recognize character, communication styles, relationship patterns, energy, and how people actually show up around others.

Matchmaking is ultimately a people business. ❤️

Thank you @DatingNews for including my perspective in “How to Become a Matchmaker: 10 Tips From Industry Experts.”

I’m honored to be featured in a recent DatingNews.com article highlighting the philosophy behind the singles events we create at Beau Monde Matchmaking.

One of the questions I’m asked most often is, ”What makes your events different?”

The answer is simple: people don’t return because of the venue—they return because of how they felt.

Every event is intentionally designed to make meeting new people feel natural rather than forced. We focus on thoughtful introductions, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and helping people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. When that happens, genuine conversations—and real chemistry—have room to develop.

In a world where many singles are experiencing dating app fatigue, it’s exciting to see more people embracing authentic, face-to-face connections. The renewed interest in curated in-person experiences reflects a broader shift happening across the dating industry.

A huge thank you to the DatingNews team for featuring my story and giving me the opportunity to share why I’m so passionate about bringing people together.

If you’d like to learn more, I’d love for you to read the article:
