From tomatoes to pears, chickens and beyond, the Project EARTH farm is an active space for education and growth. Working with our staff, incarcerated individuals are learning about the maintenance and care of animals, plants, and crops in a therapeutic, farming environment. by @msosheriff

Please join us in congratulating our June 2026 Employee of the Month – Officer Michael Seamans.On the morning of June 30, Officer Seamans and K9 Dillon responded to a mutual aid call in Carlisle for an individual who had crashed a car and fled into the woods following a pursuit.Upon arrival in Carlisle, Officer Seamans met with other officers and began searching for the suspect. Despite reported sightings, the individual was not located and was believed to have potentially left the area. While other K9 assets cleared the area, Officer Seamans and K9 Dillon remained on standby.Approximately three-and-a-half hours after the original call for assistance, Officer Seamans responded to a new potential sighting. As he traveled to the location, the suspect emerged from the woods and ran past Officer Seamans’ vehicle.Officer Seamans put his vehicle in reverse and drove toward the suspect, then he and K9 Dillon quickly exited their vehicle and gave chase on foot, repeatedly ordering the suspect to stop. The suspect eventually complied and was placed into custody by Officer Seamans.For his alertness, professionalism, and dedication to collaboration, Officer Michael Seamans is recognized as our June 2026 Employee of the Month! by @msosheriff

The MSO’s Family Support Services Unit (FSSU) will once again be hosting a back to school backpack event for families of incarcerated individuals at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction. Families wishing to register to receive a free backpack and assorted school supplies should email FSSU@sdm.state.ma.us. A limited number of backpacks are available and will be distributed based on the order of registration. Backpacks and supplies will be distributed in August. by @msosheriff

Please join us in congratulating our May 2026 Employee of the Month - Officer Verly Jean.Officer Jean is a nearly nine-year veteran of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned to the Inner Perimeter Security Unit (IPS). As a member of the IPS team, Officer Jean has a wide range of responsibilities, including conducting investigations and reviewing incidents that occur within the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction. In mid-May, Officer Jean was reviewing security footage following a medical emergency when he identified information crucial to the follow up care for the individual involved. Acting promptly, Officer Jean passed the critical information along to the appropriate staff, as well as the shift commander ensuring the individual received the immediate care necessary. Throughout his time in IPS, Officer Jean has consistently performed his duties with professionalism, reliability and great attention to detail – all of which shown through in this case. For those reasons, we honor Officer Verly Jean as our May 2026 Employee of the Month! #WeAreTheMSO by @msosheriff
