@braveforgood.usa I have no idea where you think Bibles belong in schools; they don't! The #treatyoftripoli tells us that the US is NOT a Christian nation. There is a #separationofchurchandstate, and the #firstamendment gives us religious freedom. There are private #religiousschools; as an ex-Catholic, I spent K-12 in private Catholic schools. Public schools are state- and federally funded, so they have to follow the U.S. Constitution. Anyone with knowledge and a smartphone and/or computer can research that what you are doing violates the US Constitution! No, public schools cannot impose religious beliefs on students.
Constitutional Rules
• The Establishment Clause: Protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, public schools are government entities and must remain religiously neutral. They cannot sponsor, force, or endorse prayer or religious doctrine.
• Teaching vs. Indoctrination: Public schools are allowed to teach about religion from an academic, historical, or cultural perspective. They are forbidden from indoctrinating students or trying to make them accept or reject a specific faith.
What Students and Staff Can Do
• Student Expression: Individual students have the right to pray, read religious texts, talk about their faith, or form religious clubs (if other non-curricular clubs are allowed) during free time, as long as they do not disrupt class.
• No Coercion: Teachers and school officials cannot use their authority to pressure, coerce, or lead students in prayer or religious activities.
