A woman made with greatness in mind
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
No matter what I’m going through, how I feel, or how I’ve been feeling lately, one thing I know for sure is that God is still a God of miracles! 🙏🏾❤️ And I’m still a firm believer in them!
Even in the middle of my storm, through the wake-up calls, eye-openers, and things I don’t understand, I know God is behind the scenes cooking up something greater for me. And just like I believe He’s working things out for me, I believe He’s doing the same for someone else, too!
Especially those who take a moment out of their day to lift me up in prayer. I want you to know that I appreciate you, and I sincerely thank you! ❤️🙏🏾 I pray that while you’re asking God to make a way for me, He’s opening doors, answering prayers, and making ways for you that you didn’t even see coming!!!!!
#God is still working, even when I can’t see it! 🙌🏾❤️ by @mssamika

One month today… 💔🕊️

A whole month without my baby Justin. Some days I cry, some days I smile at the memories, and some days I have to find something to laugh about just to keep myself going. ❤️‍🩹
And TODAY… apparently that something is DALTON. 😭😂
Now how Dalton done made his way into my baby funeral pictures like he knew Justin since Kirby?! 😭🤣 Sir, why are you standing with the family like you helped raise him?! 😂😂
Sir done slid in the family picture like “Long Live Bro.” 😂🤦🏾‍♀️ “Laugh with me because my stomach is in knots🤦🏾‍♀️”

But underneath the laughter, today still belongs to my baby. ❤️ One month ago my life changed forever. I’m learning that grieving doesn’t mean I have to cry every second to prove how much I love my son. I can laugh. I can smile. I can keep living. And I can still miss him with every piece of me.

Justin, Mama loves you beyond this life. Forever 26. ♾️❤️🕊️ by @mssamika

Sometimes Facebook memories will humble you.
I came across something I wrote on August 16, 2023
“As hurtful as it is, after death we are still required to continue to live.”
I talked about death forcing us to face our deepest fears, live genuinely, grow, and make the most of the precious time we have on this earth.
I ended it by saying:
I’m not saying it will be easy, but continuing to live is necessary.
At the time, those were words I believed.
I didn’t know that three years later I would have to live them after losing my own son.
That’s different.
It’s easy to say, “Keep living,” when grief hasn’t knocked the breath out of you.
It’s different when the person in the casket is your baby.
But when I looked even further back, I realized God had been working on me for years.
In 2022, I wrote
“Even the strong get weak at times.”
I talked about trusting God through unbelievable situations and praying for people because everybody is battling something we may know nothing about.
And in 2021, I was already talking about healing in peace, moving at my own pace, and understanding that I don’t have to speak on or react to everything.
I didn’t write those things because I knew Justin was going to die.
I didn’t.
I was simply living, learning and growing.
But now those old words feel like letters from an earlier version of myself to the woman I am today.
2023 Meka told 2026 Meka:
You’re going to have to keep living.
2022 Meka reminded me:
Even strong people get weak.
And 2021 Meka told me
Heal in peace. Move at your own pace. You don’t have to react to everything.
Baby…
I had been talking myself through this journey before I ever knew this journey would have my name on it.
And maybe that’s why I understand something today that I couldn’t fully understand then:
Sometimes the words you give somebody else become the words you eventually need for yourself.
So today I’m taking my own advice.

I’m grieving.

I’m healing.

I’m moving at my own pace.

I’m trusting God even when I don’t understand Him.

And as painful as it is…

I’m continuing to live. by @mssamika

Nephew, Auntie misses you so much💔 I guess you saw your boy getting tired, and you and Cheese came back to get him. I ain’t gonna lie, nephew… I wasn’t ready. Even though I knew one day this could happen, nothing could’ve prepared me for it happening this soon.
Y’all still know how to rock Auntie’s heart. I’m hurting, but I’m okay because I know both of y’all are finally at peace. The only thing I ask is that y’all please come see about me every now and then. Send me a sign when you can. I just need to know y’all are still around. Justin, we literally had this conversation the day before that Wednesday. You asked me, “Would you rather bury me or me bury you?” You already knew my answer. I told you I’d rather you bury me because that’s the way it’s supposed to be. You laughed because you knew your mama was always going to stand ten toes down for you.
Son, you’ve always told me that I was all you had, and I’ve always told you that I’d never stop being in your corner. Well, guess what? Death doesn’t change that!!!!! My love for you didn’t end when your heartbeat did.
I got you for life son!!!!
Until God calls me home, I’ll continue speaking your name, protecting your legacy, and making sure the world knows who Justin Pinkins Hardaway was. You’ll forever be my firstborn, my Young Legend, and my heart walking outside of my body.
I love and miss both of y’all more than words could ever explain. Keep watching over us, and whenever you can… come see about your Auntie and your Mama🕊️💜♾️ by @mssamika

Can’t even believe that I am making this 😞💔

I am asking everyone who is able to contribute toward his funeral expenses or to help support his daughter during this difficult time. No donation is too small every act of kindness matters.
Let’s show his family they are not walking this journey alone. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support. ❤️🙏🏾
Praying for his family, especially his daughter. I hope this becomes a reminder that she’s surrounded by people who care about her father’s legacy and want to help carry some of the weight during this difficult time. ❤️
