big clean tomorrow, 2nd splash in 48 hours due to weeping skin fittings. 3 now removed and replaced with new, zig zag bobing happily and one much happier and less stressed owner taken in Marina Rubicon, Lanzarote by @mstaylor1963

the End of the BEGINNING, i fly to lanzerotte today to move aboard the good ship zig zag for my 5 year adventure sailing to carribean panama 2 years in pacific 1 year circum nav of australia 1 year circumnavigation of new zealand and then returning home via patagonia and Cape Horn.
decades of dreaming,
years of planning,
2 years of action,
and today is the day!

so pleased for @ianbutcher, first day tomorrow fishing “Minnehaha” now renamed Macie B after his daughter. Two months of paperwork and inspections over, wishing him every success and happiness.

it’s hard to express but i was privileged to be part of the team that managed to get the Athlone castle back on dry land. i was the driver of the rib that both towed her 95% sunk to safety and rescued ben and jeremy when they abandoned ship.
The Athlone castle is a historically important vessel serving in africa, then in wwII as a decoy and finally as a dunkirk little ship. it’s a privilege to touch this piece of history. At 10:10 on 11/7 exactly one week since she was washed ashore a crowd fund for her repairs will be launched.

second gold for Marie in today’s technical race following gold in the sprints yesterday. everything crossed for tomorrow’s distance race, hopefully Marie has enough left in the tank to make it three gold medals 🥇 from three. local girl bringing the golds home!

the end of an era, my beloved Minnehaha embarks on a road journey to Hayle to start fishing the North coast. she’s a west country girl having fished out of Isles of Scilly, Newlyn, Brixham more recently Salcombe and Hope Cove with me and now with new owner Ian Butcher from Hayle. wish you happiness and great fishing taken in Salcombe, Devon by @mstaylor1963
