Mom ❤️ ~ Delayed and missed connection slept in airport. Reconnect another flight to get there asap.

Frankie was shy to use her Portuguese so we made it a points game. She spoke to everyone in Portuguese and can comprehend even more. The best school is travel.

The stadium had so much energy. Professor Tainan talked with Frankie and coached her. Frankie fights hard and shows so much growth. She loses in semis, emotions off the mat. Parents are not allowed down in the competition area so I watch from above. professor gui stays with her and talks her through emotions, it’s amazing support he gives these kids. He speaks with her a while. I watch her go find her opponent congratulate and hug her. Makes me emotional. Super proud. This is what jiujitsu gives a kid. Especially @artofjiujitsu

Soaking up little experiences around town - shopping eating. Short trips far away are worth it every time.

Professor Tainan seminar. Tainan makes the kids feel so special. He takes time to go over some fight details and has them sit in front during seminar. Frankie and Drew partner with local boy. Give some AOJ gear to professor of the gym for one of his kids. 🖤

My ❤️❤️

I love Sundays. A restart of the week. Wake up, spend time with God, prayer mediation, good conversation, come home, slow morning into afternoon, make food.

I have learned the benefits of this reset everyday, a reflection and restart, reading upon wakening and at bed. looking up and in. What can I improve, how can better myself for those around me, how can I grow. Started with the blessed Program AA and Alanon and growing more in the Bible. I love that we can always start again. We can pray, reflect, reset, learn, evolve, pray more. Always looking up. Never giving up. Trying to teach our kids this habit daily reset daily reflection. God is enough, in them always and other people and things are never enough. But attracting the ones that add to the love in your heart is a big part of life and will on the right path. They in themselves with God are always enough - never stop learning, resetting, growing, evolving. ❤️❤️ by @mswhelan

Congrats Mick, so proud of you.
7 fights 6 submissions in Brazil today.

Fourth year in Brazil. Mick was 12 when he first went to Brazil, the country where his Professors are from and the culture of the sport and community he loves so much. And to get more fights with tough competition .into the fire. proving grounds.

Love seeing you evolve, Mick. I watched you make some changes these last few weeks in response to a loss, always pushing to get better and adjust, this makes me so proud. Lets go!

Frankie’s first time traveling to Europeans in Dublin, Ireland with the team without me or mick. She didn’t get the results today. But she showed so much maturity in her preparation and travel for comp, such a good experience. So grateful for jiujitsu and where it takes her and what it teaches her. So proud of you Frankie 🌹
