POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
The MSW Student Association at Stanislaus State stands with our students, families, and communities during this difficult and uncertain time.

As Ice activities increases across the Central Valley, we recognize the fear, stress, and uncertainty that many members of our community may be experiencing. We believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

As social work students, we are committed to showing up for our community, supporting one another, sharing resources, and creating spaces where students and families feel seen, heard, and supported.

To our immigrant and mixed-status communities: We stand with you. You matter. You are valued, and you are not alone 🤍 by @mswstanstate

Hello MSW students 👋

Join us for Beyond Traditional Practices, which will take place on Saturday, October 10th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. 🌱

The purpose of this panel is to explore the ancestral origins of spiritual and cultural healing practices beyond traditional talk therapy, as well as the history and potential harm of relying exclusively on Western mental health models. The session aims to help us become more informed and thoughtful practitioners by expanding how we think about healing and recognizing that no single framework fits every individual or community.🌱

Presented by MSW Cohort E

As social workers, we are called to listen, learn, and advocate alongside the communities we serve. This video shares the lived experiences of individuals and families impacted by immigration policies, highlighting the barriers, challenges, and resilience present within our communities.

We invite MSW students, faculty, and community members to engage with these stories and reflect on the importance of advocacy, social justice, and culturally responsive practice.

🎥 Watch the video by clicking the link in our bio!

Together, we can help amplify voices, increase awareness, and promote meaningful dialogue ✊🏽 by @mswstanstate

Duarte roots. Dominguez legacy. 🎓🤍#

As Hispanics, we are quick to show up for the quinces, weddings, and celebrations — and that love for family and community is beautiful. But I encourage us all to make graduations just as important.

Show up for the cap and gown pictures.
Celebrate the late nights and sacrifices.
Cheer for the degrees, certificates, and accomplishments.

Education changes generations. 🤍 taken in California State University, Stanislaus by @mswstanstate

This Mental Health Awareness Month, LeadHER Up had the honor of hosting our Mindful May Seminar in Ceres, bringing youth and community members together to have important conversations about mental health, wellbeing, and support.

A huge thank you to Mayor Javier Lopez for coming out and speaking about the importance of mental health awareness in our community. Thank you as well to Janeice Suarez from SheBecame209 for sharing valuable insight on wellbeing and self-care, and to Amber and Riley from the MSW Program at Stan State for educating attendees about social work and the impact mental health professionals have on our communities.

A special thank you to Kym Barber from NAMI Stanislaus for leading the goose clip activity and reminding everyone that no one is ever alone. Participants also created stress balls as healthy tools for stress relief and positive coping skills. These activities encouraged creativity, connection, and meaningful conversations about mental health.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, and supported this event. Conversations about mental health matter, and together we can continue creating safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. Remember to check in on yourself and others — you are never alone. by @mswstanstate
