Same Kid. Same Library. Bigger Jersey. 💙💛🖤

Long before he wore #29 for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Eli Heidenreich was a middle schooler racing through our doors with his friends to grab their favorite study booths by the windows. Those afternoons were filled with homework (mostly), laughter, and big dreams.

Then came Navy, where Eli rewrote the record books.
And then came the Steelers, calling him home.
And then, this week, he came back to where it all began, to renew his Mt. Lebanon Public Library card.

Some things never change. Same kind smile. Same humble spirit. And we suspect a few of those big dreams are still growing and coming true.

That's the beauty of a library. It becomes a part of your story. You grow up, you go places, you become what you once only dreamed about. And when you walk back through those doors, you're still the kid with a favorite booth.

Welcome home, Eli.

🏈📚⚓️🖤💛

Oh, and don’t forget to download the Allegheny County Libraries app to get the most out of your shiny new library card, even when you’re not actually at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library. @eheidenreich44

From Western Pennsylvania to Hollywood and back home to Mt. Lebanon... ⭐📚

Actress, host, model, and producer Caitlin O’Connor recently stopped by to pick up something pretty important: a library card!

A Western Pennsylvania native who now calls Mt. Lebanon home, Caitlin toured the library, explored our displays and gardens, and visited the Book Cellar, our volunteer-run used bookstore.
Her visit is a great reminder that libraries are for everyone, and that it’s never too late to get your library card.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Caitlin! ❣️

❤️ Love Your Library Month ends Wednesday! Every eligible donation made by September 30 helps us earn additional matching funds.

Libraries help us put down roots, turn the page, and grow through every chapter of life.

For longtime patron Ashley Hickey Flavin, Mt. Lebanon Public Library has been part of many seasons- from childhood visits and afternoons in the library garden with her children to teaching yoga and sharing her art with the community.

“Creating this botanical series for the library felt like everything coming full circle: art, nature, and the community a library builds.”

❣️Only through Wednesday: Visit the Upper Gallery to see Ashley’s botanical exhibit, inspired by native plants, pollinators, and the natural world around us.❣️
Read Ashley’s full reflection in the comments. ❤️

📚 The book business is always booming... and right now, so are our holds lockers!

Our book lockers are officially full, and while we love seeing so many materials finding their way to eager readers, we could use your help.

Got holds waiting? Come pick them up! Every locker that's emptied makes room for the next patron's books, movies, and more.

Not sure if you have anything ready? Check the Allegheny County Libraries App to view your holds and access your digital library card.

Picking up after hours? No problem. Just use your library card number and PIN to open your locker.

Open the app, check your account, and if your holds are ready, come claim your library treasures today.

And if you don't have anything on hold right now...

Are you trying to make our librarians sad? 😉
