Man, season is just getting started and I have an injury to deal with. Fortunately I was able to meet with @mtn_physio at his clinic and assess my situation.

Dr Ward knows from first-hand understanding of the demands the mountains put on us. Our season is so short, I always train to improve ln the mountain but I clearly neglect a lot of simple mechanics.

Whether you’re looking to repair an injury or prevent one. @prestonwarddpt is super knowledgeable and can guide you to a healthier, more successful fall! by @mtn_physio

Success in the mountains isn’t random.

It’s built.
Measured.
Prescribed.

Most people train hard.

But very few understand what their body actually needs.

Because they’ve never measured it.

We don’t guess.

We evaluate movement, identify limitations, and prescribe exactly what your body needs to perform better.

Because performance in the mountains comes down to one thing… how you move.

Under load.
Under fatigue.
On uneven ground.

This isn’t training.

It’s a system built on movement, designed to identify limitations and elevate performance in the mountains.

Built for mountain athletes who demand more.

If you want to perform at a higher level,
start by knowing where you stand.

Know where you stand. Start with a movement evaluation!

Nothing sexy…. Just the right exercise for the right problem… when the next hunt is on the line there isn’t time for guessing!! Had a call into one of my patients today and he said he doesn’t recall a time he has felt this strong for a hunt ever. He also doesn’t recall a time he has focused so much on one area… when we evaluate and build a plan we build a plan to target the specific cause not just the symptoms… and it’s certainly not guesswork!

Have a hunt coming up… dealing with pain, an injury then book a discovery call shoot us a DM let’s get everything sorted out and keep you on the MTN!

Two brothers that live for wild places, adventure and the true flight of an arrow!

Nearly 25 years ago we set our sights on becoming bowhunters… doubling up as often as we can, enjoying the chase. Never a competition, always supporting each other through the wins, the losses, the blood the sweat the tears, always wanting the other to win first, to be successful, to come out on top, no secrets, no lies, a partnership where truth, honesty and loyalty come first…. A brotherhood!!!

Tagged out Brother! Love you! 🤘🏼🏹

Seemed fitting… thanks @ianmunsick for the song.

My mind is saying no… but after a good day of rehab and recovery my body is saying let’s go!!! (Hey look MTN PHYSIO actually works! 😜)

Mountain goat hunting is incredible… living at 11,000 feet these animals are beautiful and I would argue are one of the most physically demanding animals to hunt in the most demanding environment of all the once-in a lifetime species… where every step matters! A wrong move could mean serious injury or worse!

Congrats to the hunter @kc.8404 on a beautiful Billy and an adventure of a lifetime!

They say if you ever get a chance to go on a once in a lifetime hunt do it… well I did! What an epic adventure and glad I could help @kc.8404 tag out on an awesome Billy!!! Nearly 4000 vert in about 1.5 miles is steep!!!! These goats live in steep country! Every step had a purpose, every rock I stepped on carefully examined… will it support me or will it give way.. a grueling hike just to wait out the clouds to move into position to carefully examine the shot. Shoot him over here and he rolls 1000 feet, he takes two steps and you shoot him here who knows how far he goes. Heavy packs. Spotter, tripod, water, puffy clothes, battery packs, headlamps, knifes, camera gear…

I’ll say it again these goats live in some of the wildest country I have step foot in. Climbing out of scree fields with a loaded pack to make it to the ridge just to descend cliff faces and highly technical climbing routes by headlamp and tired legs is hard!!

Sleeping on the side of a MTN in a deer bed then waking up and loading the packs up to haul everything off was even harder. Less than 1 mile to camp but now descending 2000 feet… was more than a challenge! It took everything in me to support the weight of the pack, my gear and life where literally one wrong move could have resulted in devastating failure!

When I say we are serious about keeping you on the MTNS it’s what we do, it’s what we live for! We know the demands this sport puts on your body, the training, the rehab, the recovery! Sure you can go see another provider, sure you can get some exercises… but to have a provider who knows you, your sport, this passion and the best way to rehab, recover and build a resilient body is one of the best things you can do for yourself!

Ankles, knees, back, shoulders, hips, yes even my elbow held up well!!! Grateful for MTN PHYIO REHAB AND TRAINING!

Grateful for this life and another adventure in the books. Congrats @kc.8404 on a great Billy!

Camera… heavy yes worth it… also yes! Epic photos to come!

Spoke to a few people today lacking motivation…. Motivation to exercise, motivation to get out of pain, motivation to move and live longer, and motivation to change their lives… after a good discussion aka rebuking kindly of course… it got me thinking… what is your motivation?? What is that carrot 🥕? At the end of the day an excuse is an excuse… quite making excuses! And if you don’t have motivation…just go elk hunting!!

Epic weekend chasing bugles… lots more to come!

What started as a simple pain turned into a nearly season ending injury…. If you get one thing out of this all I ask is this…. ITS NOT IF YOU ARE GOING TO NEED A DOCTOR, SPECIALISTS TO IDENTIFY, DIAGNOSE AND GET YOU BETTER ITS WHEN AND THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW… AND THE OTHER THING PLEASE SHARE THIS MESSAGE, THE MESSAGE OF HEALTH TRUMPS ALL AND WE WANT TO HELP PROLONG THE SEASON OF EVERY HUNTER, ARCHER, WEEKEND WARRIOR, TRAIL RUNNER HIKER YOU NAME IT!

The mountains this sport everything about the outdoors means too much to me to you to lose just because you decided to try to self diagnose, save a few Pennie’s here and there!

We have to make this message known to the hunting, bowhunting outdoor sport and performance world that there are two guys that get it, we get you and we can help! We have to get this into the right hands!

Welcome, Sweet September!

These sunsets never get old. Soon, these views will be from a tree stand, mountain top, or waterfront blind.

As the excitement for hunting season builds, ask yourself three questions:

Have you checked your gear?
Have you checked your weapon?
Have you checked your health?

Being ready for the hunt means more than having the right equipment. Your body needs to be ready too.

It’s never too late to identify your deficits, address your limitations, and prepare for the demands of the season.

Prepare now. Hunt strong. Enjoy the sunsets this year and for years to come.

Get to the MTN. Stay on the MTN.

Sweet September is finally here, the weather is cool and bulls are on the move.

1.) Prepare for success.
You can’t guarantee what happens in the elk woods, but you can make sure you’re ready when the moment comes.

2.) Don’t stop preparing when the season starts.
Your body still has to carry you up the mountain, day after day. Take care of it. (That’s where we come in 😜)

3.) Find the problems before they become injuries.
Movement screens can identify limitations before they turn into the nagging knee, hip, ankle, or back problem that ends your hunt early. ( just book a call already 😜)

4.) Don’t forget to have fun. I see so many people worrying about the perfect call sequence, and doing everything for the “Gram.” Go learn about the elk in your woods and what they respond to. Make mistakes and have fun.

5.) Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing.
Put the phone away. Enjoy the adventure, truth is the majority of tags are unsuccessful, it’s not why we do it, we do it to chase some amazing animals so enjoy the adventure.

6.) Enjoy the MTNS, your people, the memories
Because at the end of the day… the memories matter more than the content.

7.) Respect the animals, the land. Elk are big and tough animals know your effective range ( and it’s not as far as you think.)

8.) Train for the whole hunt..not just opening morning.
The hardest part of elk hunting usually isn’t the first mile.
It’s day 5. It’s the steep climb after four nights of bad sleep. It’s the packout when your legs are already smoked. Don’t just prepare to hunt. Prepare to finish the hunt.

9.) Have a plan, but be willing to abandon it. This is where calling comes into play as well. Elk don’t care about your plan. Adapt. Learn. Keep moving. The best hunters can adapt.

10.) Don’t confuse suffering with success.
Pain isn’t a badge of honor, it doesn’t get you farther. Neither is limping back to camp. Things can go south quick. Be alert and take care of your body so you can come back tomorrow.

Let’s hear it in the comments 👇which one resonates the most? Or what did I leave out?

PSA what I call a little FYA aka flex your arrows. Seriously speaking though do yourself a simple favor and flex your arrows after each shot, check your nocks, the carbon around it, check your points, flex it in the middle and on the end. What was a fully intact arrow as soon as I flexed it, it snapped… could have been an injury in a matter of seconds or ruined a bow and a n injury like that could have ended the season…it’s the little things that matter so do yourself a favor and flex em… then do yourself a favor and book a performance evaluation so we can assess where you are at using our proprietary algorithm and guide you so you can have greater success… want to know how you measure up… give us a call!!

So in summary flex your arrows after each shot and book an evaluation with your backcountry performance Docs to keep you pain free, injury free and on the MTN.
