matcha + yap about my *1st month* of content creation! 🍵

this is week 5 of “Filling My Matcha Cup” - a series where i go on side quests to heal from corporate burnout and find joy in my life ✨ shoutout to @matchasnobs for the yummy matcha 💙

one month ago i created this account and went from burnt out corporate dropout to internet stranger oversharing her feelings.

and it’s been the most wonderful, terrifying, unexpectedly beautiful month of my life.

for years i had this intense fear of being perceived online. it stopped me from pursuing content creation for so long.

and then one month ago i just said fuck it, posted my first video, and had absolutely no idea what would come next.

i won’t lie, the lows are definitely real - i do still feel self-doubt and constantly question if i can actually make this dream work.

but then i’ll get a DM from someone saying “this is exactly how i’ve been feeling and i’ve never heard anyone put it into words” and i remember exactly why i started this.

to connect. to help people feel less alone. to finally follow my passion and build a life that feels like mine.

so here’s to month 2 (and many more in the future)! i’m glad you’re here, and i hope you stick around 💗

“i’ve been afraid of changing because i’ve built my life around you” - except replace “you” with a corporate career i’d spent years grinding for.

sometimes i feel like i blew up my life by quitting my job. other times it feels like the best decision i ever made. most of the time it’s both at once.

in the last 6 months, i quit my job, moved to a new city, started living alone for the first time, and am trying to build a new career from scratch. that’s a lot of change to take on all at once, and i won’t pretend i always handle it gracefully.

i don’t know how much of this is good change or bad change. i don’t know if i’ll look back and miss the old version of myself, or if i’ll be proud of who i’m becoming.

landslide has this line: “can i sail through the changing ocean tides, can i handle the seasons of my life?” i think about this a lot, because i genuinely don’t know yet. and i’m learning to be okay with not knowing.

but even scared, even full of self doubt, even moving forward imperfectly, i’m still moving forward. because i can’t let myself stay stuck in a life that no longer makes me happy.

welcome back to “MT’s Empty Apartment” - an apartment makeover series where I transform my empty apt into a cozy home 🏡

what’s YOUR go-to breakfast? 🥞🥣☕️

this is week 8 of “Filling My Matcha Cup” - a series where i go on side quests to heal from corporate burnout and find small joys in my life 🍵✨

back in my corporate days, I used to skip breakfast every. single. day. at the time I was simply too drained to even muster up the energy to make breakfast. in fact, I thought of breakfast as an unnecessary blocker to starting my work day.

ofc I see how sad and ridiculous that thought process is now - how can nourishing your body first thing in the morning be anything but self care?

now that I’ve left corporate and my days have settled into a new rhythm, I’m slowly starting to enjoy the slow mornings with my lazy girl breakfast. and it feels like healing 💕
