So impressed with everyone who participated in our first Intro to AWD Offroad skills last weekend! Well done!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 From stock to modified, all makes and models were welcome to learn the basics of taking your AWD off the pavement. This is the culmination obstacle that everyone had a chance to tackle with our experience guiding and spotting along the way. The diversity of vehicles ranged from a stock AWD @toyota minivan, a stock @subaru_usa Outback, a lifted WRX, a modified Forester, and a couple of Crosstreks. They all learned different techniques and tips to hit the trails with good user etiquette and to navigate some technical terrain in their own vehicles! What a whirlwind Journey to the 2025 Rebelle! What started as a longshot dream many years ago grew into this incredible opportunity to partner with Subaru of America to build out a 2025 Forester Hybrid however I wanted and to compete as a factory-sponsored rally team. This unique opportunity grew into testing this new hybrid platform to see how well it would do when put to the test offroad in the classic MtnSubi/SilverbulletXV way 😈. Modified in 3 phases following a typical offroad Subaru fashion, we had a compressed timeline to bring this vision to life in 2.5 months from receiving the stock car to leaving for the Rebelle. In that time, we worked with our brand partners to experiment with lifts and suspension, braking and tire packages, protection, lighting, and storage solutions. It was then put to the test on trails such as Hells Revenge, Black Bear Pass, Imogene Pass, Ophir Pass, and Swing Arm City, along with several local trails and testing grounds. Despite a "hiccup" about 30-days from leaving for the Rebelle, it all came together, complete with a killer high vis livery. It performed excellently as @4wlnmom and my third teammate for Team MtnSubi, together bringing home 5 Stage wins and another overall🥇 podium win! As we climb out of the fog that is post-rally, we want to thank Subaru for this incredible opportunity and for trusting us with this unique project! A letter from the President of TORQ-Masters Industries, Cora Jokinen: We would like to personally congratulate Team #204 Carey Lando @mtnsubi and Andrea Shaffer driving a 2014 Subaru Outback, equipped with a TORQ Locker, for making @rebellerally history this year with the first-ever Subaru win at the Rebelle Rally in the X-Cross™ class. This is the first time the duo has teamed up, though both bring twelve years of combined Rebelle experience in this year’s competition. Carey is an excellent driver and knows her modified Subaru through and through, she is pushing the limits of the platform every chance she gets, in all sorts of terrain. Andrea is an expert navigator with many years of experience. We knew they were shooting for a podium spot when we saw these two ladies pair up as a team. All the hard work, training and practice paid off. Way to go Ladies, we are so proud of you! Some fresh @diodedynamics lighting to bump Frankie’s game😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨. Today’s upgrades include the following… 2- SSC2 2.0 Max Fog pods in amber 1- 20” Pro Spot light bar in white Those should round out the forward lighting nicely mounted high on the hood of the vehicle for maximum down range coverage without needing to mount anything above the roof and potentially blinding the driver in dusty or snowy conditions,. The SSC2’s will also function as a forward chase light to flash and let oncoming drivers know we’re coming down trail during day time adventures out in the desert or whatnot. In total the Impreza now has… 2 SSC2 2.0 Max Fog pods in amber, 1 20” Pro Spot light bar in white, 3 SS5 pods in Pro Driving white, 2 SS3 pods in Pro Fog amber, 2 SS3 pods in pro Combo Amber, And 1 Diode Dynamics SS10 chase bar.
