Happy Birthday in Heaven to my Bonus Dad. 🤍
I’ve tried to find the right words for today, but the truth is… I just miss you.
I miss your voice. I miss your presence. I miss knowing you were here. I miss the love you brought into our lives. You weren’t just my “Bonus Dad.” You were my Dad. You chose to love me, and you loved my girls as your own. You were their Peepaw, and that will always be one of the greatest gifts you gave us.
I’ve learned that grief doesn’t get smaller because time passes. You just learn how to carry it. Some days I can smile at the memories, and other days—like today—the missing you feels incredibly heavy.
I hope somehow you know how loved you still are. How often you are talked about. How many memories of you still make us laugh and smile. And how grateful I will forever be that life gave me you.
Happy Birthday, Dad. I love you. I miss you. And I hope wherever you are, you know that I would choose you as my Bonus Dad in every lifetime. 🤍

I never imagined I would be using social media to ask strangers to help me find answers about what happened to him, but here I am.
Someone knows something. Someone saw something, heard something, or knows a piece of this story that our family doesn't.
