Your term four forecast: a high chance of muddy children and absolutely no cleaning up for youuuuuu! 😝

Our Perth sensory play themes are here! Potions, pumpkins, backyard beasties, a trip to outer space, construction, and of course a very muddy Christmas to finish things off! 😍🎄

The themes mostly just give me an excuse to get carried away with the setups 😝 Your little people can take the play wherever they like, and oh boy do they! 😂

📍 Mondays at Camboon Primary, Noranda
📍 Wednesdays & Thursdays at Swan Valley Station
🌸 Term starts 19th October

Each week’s theme runs across all three days, so pick the session that suits you! We’re taking a break from 23-27 November, then back for the final three weeks 😍

Come for the messy nature play. Stay for the fresh air, chats and a chance to breathe while your little person gets stuck in.

Book through the link in bio and send this to the mama you want standing beside you with a coffee whilst you compare last night's shitty sleep ☕

Pssst, birthday on the horizon? Party availability is limited heading into the busy season. DM me to get your date sorted! ✨

And let me know what you'd like over the summer holidays! Bigger kid sessions? A mini term? Just continue on and pretend it's still term? 👀

I like to think I'm just a normal adult, and then I get unreasonably excited over a super cool stick 🤪

Anyway, thanks for following along while I build tiny worlds, collect weird things and try to make childhood feel a little more magical 🥹✨

If you've made it this far, we're probably going to get along 😝

Pls share your weirdness and tell me one random thing that's become your whole personality lately (hyperfixation anyone?) 👇

Christmas shopping? No babe, I’m ✨financial planning✨

A farm stay = potential holiday sorted
A mud kitchen = potential Christmas present sorted
An annual Little Land pass = potential “what are we doing today?” sorted

The maths is looking VERY convincing 👀

Our Perth charity raffle is raising funds for Telethon in memory of Winnie, with beautiful prizes donated by generous small businesses 💚

Winnie was part of my life for six of his seven years through my work as his nurse. He is so deeply missed, and this is one way we’re keeping his love rippling out into the world.

So, a chance to win something lovely AND support WA children? Mate, that’s girl maths I can get behind.

🎟️ Grab your raffle tickets through the link in our bio! Sales end this weekend 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
👇 Which prize have you already mentally claimed?

Your Christmas shopping could be sorted with a raffle ticket 👀🎄

Our Perth charity raffle for Telethon 7, in honour of our beautiful Winnie, is packed with prizes you’ll want to gift… or keep.
No judgement here 😂

🌿 A mud kitchen for years of backyard play
🏡 A farm stay for a family escape
🔥 A Big Don’s feed
🎟️ An annual Little Land pass
🎁 Vouchers, experiences and SO much more!

Christmas presents for the kids, something for the foodie, family adventures and a little treat for yourself, there’s a lot to love!!!

But the reason behind it all is Winnie 💚

Winnie was part of my life for six of his seven years, when I had the privilege of being one of his nurses. He is so missed, and this raffle is one way we’re keeping his memory close while raising money for Telethon to support WA children and families!

✨ Drawn 18 October, grab your tickets through the link in bio!

Send this to someone who starts Christmas shopping early… or someone who would absolutely keep the Big Don’s prize 😂

💚✨

Parenting’s scary enough, let Halloween play be the easy bit 😝

5 easy Halloween play ideas for toddlers and preschoolers, using stuff you’ve probably already got!

A pumpkin becomes a potion bowl.
Squishy mulberries become paint.
That random fabric scrap finally gets a job (freeloader).

Add bubbles, frozen creepy crawlies and a ghost with nine eyes, and you’ve got yourself a spoooooooky afternoon 😂

Put out a few bits and bobs and let them take it from there. Stirring the same potion for 40 minutes absolutely counts. So does abandoning the ghost to play with the stick 💀

Save this for later and send it to your mum bestie with a pumpkin and a feral toddler 🎃

Want the messy play without the clean up? Come play with us at Mud Buddies Perth in Term 4! Outdoor sensory play, little discoveries and room to do things their own way 💚

Bookings via the link in bio ✨

Reminder: choose materials to suit your child and supervise play. Soap bubbles are for playing, not tasting; and skip small parts for the tiniest humans!

A moment for this lion rice art tray before the toddlers got their paws on it 🦁

A flashback to some wild sensory play at Mud Buddies Perth. A rice mane, a very brief moment of looking pretty, then plenty of scooping, pouring and mixing 😝

Creating the lion was my play. What happened next was all theirs 💚

There is a surprising amount of thinking behind letting children do their own thing 🤪

I choose the materials. Think about access and set up. Consider the place, the season and what happens to everything afterwards (thank u FOGO bin 🙏)

Then a toddler arrives and gives a gumnut a bath for 40 minutes.
Excellent. Carry on.

Australian research exploring eight nature play facilitators described how child directed play can sit alongside thoughtful approaches to place, nature connection, sustainability and First Nations perspectives!

And that reflects in how I approach Mud Buddies Perth: caring about the conditions, staying responsive and also leaving room for children’s big ideas. Coz man, do they have some BIG ideas 🥹

What’s the most unexpected or unhinged thing your child has done with a play set up? 👀

Research: England, Bird, Elliott & Rogers, 2026, Journal of Outdoor and Environmental Education.

Some people go op shopping for vintage scores, but I mostly go looking for weird utensils to put in mud 😂

Today’s op shop haul: weird and wonderful things I could imagine scooping, pouring, whisking and making potions with ✨

The kitchen section is SO good for affordable sensory play finds. A funny looking utensil might become a mud kitchen essential, a potion mixer or something the kids invent that I’d never even have thought of 🤷‍♀️

You don’t need a trolley full of fancy toys to make room for curious, creative play. Sometimes it’s hiding next to the second hand potato mashers (....and sometimes it IS the potato masher) 😂

Pls tell me: what’s your best “no idea what this is, but the kids love it” find? 👇

Spoiler: they got fully feral 😂

Chalk. Water. Tiny hands. Hammers. Absolute sensory chaos.

These little Tiny Toss sandbags were smashed, soaked, chalked, dragged through the mess and generally shown zero respect by approximately five hours’ worth of tiny humans at a festival 🤪

Apologies to Hannah 😅

BUT, they washed up bloody beautifully as per usual. So perhaps this is less of an apology and more of an ode to durability? 👀

There’s something so satisfying about giving kids materials without telling them what they’re supposed to do with them and just seeing where the play goes 🥹

No keeping things “nice”.
No beautiful trays but zero utensils (what is that trend lately??).
Just open ended sensory play, messy little experiments and kids absolutely sending it.

Trust. The. Play. 🫶🏼
(even when it's feral x)

Forget haunted houses. Have you ever handed a toddler the wrong colour cup? 💀

We’re gathering the tiny witches for a morning of Halloween sensory play with Mud Buddies × Little Art Buddies.

If your child’s idea of a good time is collecting sticks, splattering paint, making leaf soup and stirring something you’d rather not identify, they’ll fit right in 🧙‍♀️

Come get messy with us in The Witches’ Garden.
Costumes welcome (but good luck getting them to wear it 😝), spare clothes strongly encouraged 😂

🎃 Saturday 31 October, 9:30am
📍 Camboon Primary School, Noranda
🎟️ Book via the link in bio

Send this to your mum mates.
The tiny coven needs assembling.

The $14.99 Bunnings buy that is the BEST sensory play equipment 😂

A cheap spinny seat plus some paint = 10/10 entertainment and a very messy but happy toddler 🫟

Spin. Paint. Get dizzy (mostly me). Repeat.

....then chuck them in the bath 😅

Some of the best sensory play ideas aren’t expensive toys at all, they’re random Bunnings finds repurposed for messy, open-ended play. This one was an absolute hit today 🙌

Save this for your next DIY sensory play, messy play or outdoor play setup, especially if you’ve got a little human who loves movement 🙋‍♀️

And yes, I will absolutely continue wandering Bunnings asking myself “but could the tiny humans play with it?” 😂
