Huge shoutout to Muddy Lotus Studio for creating the custom TGC tomato drink stirrers that made our Hot Summer Tomato Nights cocktails that much more fun.

From the tiny TGC tomatoes to the incredible drinks from Cincy Sips, every detail helped bring this night to life, and we’re so grateful for creative women who take an idea and run with it.

I’ve always loved the small details at events. The things that make you stop and realize how much time and thought went into every piece.

So when one of my oldest friends asked me to do some custom items for their wedding I was obviously thrilled.

They were doing a cigar bar and wanted to have custom matchboxes and cigar labels. SAY LESS 💨

Had I ever made cigar labels? Nope. Did I do an aggressive amount of research to make sure they were perfect? DUHH

Being able to work with my friends for their weddings is one of my absolute favorite things. It was actually my best friend that got married 4 years ago that got me into this work.

It brought me so much joy to help showcase an incredible love story. And I’ll never get over that feeling.

A few weeks ago I brought my Gran to the studio. We went through old pictures and things she’s created. We talked about how she started, where she got her inspiration from, and laughed sharing all of our memories and stories.

Just shy of 92, she has and always will be one of my biggest inspirations. A woman who is never afraid to tell you how she is feeling, who has one of the most creative brains I’ve ever known, and loves her people hard.

I was so lucky to grow up right next to my grandparents when I was young. When I would get off the bus after school I would go straight to their house. She would spoil me with all the best snacks and every single day I was there she was working on something different.

This woman would save everything and turn it into magic. She was known for making Christmas ornaments, and you better believe every single ornament on her tree was hand-made by her.

She started her own markets, found inspiration in natural elements outside and things that others would throw in the trash. She is the definition of a trend setter.

She lived in a time where society dictated how women lived their lives. After serving in the Air Force, she got married, had six kids, and became a stay at home mom. She couldn’t open up her own bank account, couldn’t get a line of credit or loan, and she certainly couldn’t start her own business.

Sometimes I feel obligated to live out the life that she never got the chance to. To show her that although she made many sacrifices, she’s given me the opportunity to live out both her and my dreams.

She is my constant reminder of why I keep pushing even in the hard times. I’m thankful every single day for the life she’s given me, for the role model she has been, and the inspiration she continues to give me.

I can’t wait to show y’all more of our chats.

@poeme came to us with this idea and it’s been living rent-free in my head ever since. Custom tambourines as wedding favors, UV printed every one in our Cincinnati shop.

Join us at Muddy Lotus Studio for Print & Protest, an intimate gathering focused on community, conversation, and collective action 🫶🏻

Whether you’re planning to hand-paint a sign at home or want to use our professional studio tools to give your message an extra layer of craft, the goal is simply to show up and stand together.

We are hosting two events in March in preparation for the No Kings protest on March 28th. Come design and print your own protest sign (also doubles as a yard sign 🪧) with us:
