Hi Friends! I’m excited to announce that some of my work has been included in @wildfireceramicstudio 5th Annual HIGH FIRE show. This year, the exhibit is 420 themed & focuses on functional smoke ware accessories in celebration of the legalization of cannabis in the state of Montana.

Additionally, 10% of proceeds from this show will go to the @lastprisonerproject , a non-profit organization that works to redress the harms of cannabis criminalization, such as freeing those currently serving sentences for now legalized crimes, such as cannabis possession.

Calling all potters to send me your favorite Matte Black Cone 10 glaze recipe cuz ya girl is working diligently in getting the skull collection restocked & I’m gonna cry if I can’t find a glaze mix that gleans the results I’m looking for. 🥲 Any & all suggestions welcome my friends. 🖤

Pssst… Are you in need of stoneware for stoners?🍯 Pottery for potheads?🪴 Mud art for your bud heart?🏺Well my friends, I make things out of clay to satisfy those needs! I’ve been working very hard in the studio to get my new pieces finished so I can get them into your hands. 🤗 I just completed my first bisque fire & will be working on testing out glazes this month so we can get come color onto my pots. 🌈 I anticipate it will be another 4-6 weeks before my next shop update, but there are other ways you can support me as an artist in the meantime. 😉 Like checking out my domain page & letting me know how much you are a FAN of my work. 🪭 I appreciate your patience & hope I can entertain you in the meantime. 💋

Greetings Earthlings! I’ve been getting a lot of action on here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. My name’s Melissa, but I prefer to be called Your Highness. 👑

I’m a Filipino-Irish American Ceramic Artist, hence the name Muddy Mestiza. 🏺👩🏻‍🎨

I consume cannabis daily because it keeps my mental health in check & with the world burning around us, I think we can all use a little plant medicine to help us mellow out. 🌬️

I’ve been doing pottery on & off for the last 20 years, but something really clicked for me when I decided to focus on making pottery for potheads. It gave me a niche to focus on & helped me set a clearer path for where I wanted my relationship with clay to go. 🍃

In 2021, I bought a potter’s wheel & started my small business just out of my kitchen. Today, I’m proud to say I finally have my very own kiln & a home studio to work out of at my leisure. I’m so grateful for this life & that I get to wake up & do what I love everyday. 🤗

I want to thank everyone who’s been on this journey with me, your support means the world to me. 💕

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Zoey is no longer with us. She was 12 years, 7 months old & survived 9 months after an emergency splenectomy & cancer diagnosis last summer. She’s the toughest cookie I ever met & she fought so hard to be here with us as long as she could. That she took her last breaths as the lunar year came to a close on Monday night was nothing short of poetic. Zoey was a happy girl who brought a smile to everyone she met. She followed me everywhere I went & it’s no surprise she enjoyed going to the pottery studio with me. When the studio was quiet, it was a place she could rest while Mom worked on her art. When the studio was full, it was a place for her to socialize & spread her loving energy. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift in this life than to have the honor of raising such a sweet dog. She poured so much love out into the world & I am grateful just to have known her. I hope one day I can learn to be as present, loving, & forgiving as she was. Zoey truly was an angel on earth & I’m so thankful I got to be her mom. I know life won’t be the same without her, but when I get down I’ll remind myself that she’s watching over me, because I know she loves me & all dogs go to heaven. 💕 by @muddymestiza
