Every dog is good at something 🍀

Spent the morning at the park to give Tally the opportunity to run around. Even schlepped the longest line I have just for him to sit and stare at me instead 😑

He’s actually quite timid outside by himself. I spent the past couple weeks building his confidence using pack walks and I can already see improvement.

(he did have zoomies when we got back and muddied up the whole house though 🐾 )

We’re looking at nonstop rain today (well, all weekend) ☔️Thankfully there’s been periods where it slows down enough to get everyone out for a W-A-L-K.

Rig HATES rain. Even when it’s not actively coming down, he still hates the wet ground. It takes a lot of encouragement to get him out.

Donut tolerates it well. She starts pulling when she knows we’re heading back home 😆 Otherwise, it’s business as usual.

Tally… who hates water in any other context… was ignited by the rain and turned into such a gremlin 🤪 He was jumping all over everyone trying to play. Leashes were getting tangled. Once we got back he passed out on the couch 🤣

These three have such different personalities in every way. I love seeing how different they are!

Swipe to give Donut a croissant shaped treat from @littlesusies pie shop (we love a baked good over here) 🍩 🥐 🥧

Riggins is ready to brew up his secret potion before Halloween 🧪 🧙 He might not tell us his recipe, but the two main ingredients shouldn’t be hard to figure out 😉

Maybe he’ll hand out some magical chicken + cod skin wraps from PAWUP to 4 legged trick or treaters 👻

Thankfully their bitin’ lists aren’t long 😅

Making my heart happy 💞

I was admittedly very nervous to bring a high energy puppy into my life with a senior dog at home. Typically, those two things don’t mix very well. Even though Donut has made plenty of dog friends in her old age, it’s a whole other thing to have a puppy in the house 24/7. I was worried her tolerance toward him would be very low, but thankfully I really had nothing to worry about!

They might not be the best of besties, but I do occasionally catch them playing bitey face or grooming each other. His instincts are good and he knows when it’s time to leave her alone.

I was getting ready to trim everyone’s nails this afternoon and thankfully they held this pose long enough to snap a picture. Their crossed paws killllll meeee 🥹😭

Do you think he’s ready for dinner?

I really love the @shopdogged slow feeders. They’re easy to clean and can stand up to puppy teeth. The suction cup on the bottom helps keep his bowl in place or Tally would end up in another dimension the way he pushes food around.

Today he got some strawberry tops that were left over from my lunch 🍓Strawberry leaves are not toxic, but some dogs might not enjoy their bitter taste. Of course, he’ll eat anything, so he really enjoyed the special addition to his meal.

Meet Tally! The resident trouble maker.

The basics: Tally is a Mudi puppy

How we met: I have been wanting a herder for a long time, but I couldn’t find a breed that checked all my boxes. Deep in my research I came across a Mudi and it was like angels came down from the heavens. I reached out to his breeder, who happened to have a perfect puppy for me on the ground. It was kismet!

Favorite toy: rope toys and socks

Favorite trick: place (but only launching on to place, the staying part not so much)

Favorite treat: fish skin

Likes: chasing squirrels, barking, barking some more, biting ankles, having zoomies with zero body or spacial awareness

Dislikes: other dogs barking, going in the crate when there are no treats, clapping

Current training plan: confidence building outside, basic puppy manners

Meet Riggins, the class clown!

The basics: Riggins is 4 years old and mostly pit bull terrier

How we met: He was being fostered by an acquaintance and I thought he was the cutest thing! It had been about a month since Ollie, my pomchi, had passed and I felt ready to add another dog.

Favorite toy: tennis or foam balls

Favorite trick: “creep” (crawl backwards)

Favorite treat: dentalife chews or turkey tendons

Likes: sniffing one spot forever and ever, getting zoomies at the most inconvenient times, saying hi to dogs, carrying around dirty socks

Dislikes: thunder, the smallest hint of rain, having to make room in the bed for the human, mysterious noises in the house (can’t blame him for that one)

Current training plan: working on a trick dog novice title and trying fastCAT
