I left Jordan abruptly in March and on a whim, I packed my climbing shoes. Then followed a thread of conversations to @hostalsolanagranada Next thing I knew, I was living in a tent in Solana’s garden for two months..learning to climb, immersing myself in nature. Exactly the antidote I needed. (Watch the clips with sound. That’s why this healed me.) taken in Cogollos Vega, Andalucia, Spain by @mudmuse

Making this and sharing it has felt meaningful in ways that are difficult to explain. For a while now, my creativity has felt quieter than it once did. But somewhere between wandering Ischia, digging through family records, and trying to connect heritage and place and story..something started opening up again. for sale, from my series i’m playfully calling “mutual friends and the dot that connects us”
 each piece began with an abstract shaped base. from there i stacked coils one on top of the other, following the undulations and personalities as they emerged. my favorite way to work with clay is to explore the balance between structure and flow — very much a metaphor for my life outside the studio. there’s some risk-taking, a little technique, plenty of room for error, and always a touch of the unforeseeable.
