out today, my recording of Teresa Teng’s ‘Give Yourself To The Flow Of Time’ ✨

i adore all things Teng, have had her records and cds at home since i was little and i’m always so excited when i find a second hand vinyl out in the wild. the original is so iconic, and i thought it’d just be a little treat to myself to make a new recording (and add it to the neverending pile of covers of this song).

if you’re wondering why i’ve been recording these Japanese covers, despite being a failed Cantonese, and dyslexic English speaker - stay t00ned..

my new album ‘nothing or something to die for’ is out today ! i squeezed everything out of the brain goo in to this collection of songs, supported by a wonderful gang of friends who helped me carry the rotten egg and spoon to the finish line. if it finds you, i hope you like it ♥‿♥

without wanting to read like an acceptance speech, i want to thank my dream team…

i co-wrote and produced this with my best friend @lucci________, he arranged the strings and lost his marbles mixing the whole record 🫀

enchanted collaborations with @leiesounds, @miss_grit and @pickledarling throughout 😽

a wonderful string trio brought the tension and grit - @coco.iinman, @deniteocello and @jennylau 🎻

mastered by ear doctor Alex Wharton at Abbey Road 💿

the artwork was painted by @waffle_burger who created a perfectly grotesque visual world for the music 👽🎨

all the nightmare videos were forged by @dannygrant.xyz ⚔️

the album artwork was animated by @cathaljmckeon 🦑

the spaceship was steered by the most uplifting and joyful power duo - @jessifrick and @dollyfarten who have believed in this project since the start and encouraged the absurd ❤️‍🔥

i was so lucky to receive funding to make this from @prsfoundation which enabled us to work in studios we’d dreamed of and fully immerse in the making 🦇

happy release news (‘-’*) !

i’m putting out a collection of my own Cantonese reworked songs from ‘nothing or something to die for’ and my recent Japanese covers on vinyl in Japan on August 12th with @bigromanticrecords <3

feeling extremely grateful and still surprised that there’s going to be this new wax, cuddled by a beautiful obi strip, out in the wild in a couple weeks. the cover art is adapted from @waffle_burger’s painting for the last record.

the record will be available direct via Big Romantic’s online store and in select stores as well as at my Japan shows in September:

🔺🔺I am super excited to have @mui_zyu as a guest for a special back to back Little Trouble Girls set celebrating women in music at @thesociallondon Street Party on June 20th!
