This is our first Mother's day without you. The boys and I talk and laugh about you often. David will be graduating from college this week. Yasir will be starting early college in 11th grade and will be graduating with his associates degree in 2028. I know how important education was to you. The boys are doing their part. I am grateful you left me two reasons to keep on living they make it easy on me by doing their part and surrounding me with love and support. David and I were invited as special guest to my late wife Carissa Abdul-Malik school University Meadows Elementry School to honor Breast cancer Thrivers survivors and to honor the families of the of the fighters who are no longer with us. We were honored to attend. We were grateful for the invite. The school also said that they would do a memorial tree planting ceremony in honor of Carissa this spring. They also want to put a picture of Carissa up in the school to honor her for her commitment to education and her resilience of never giving up! Lots of emotions but we were honored to represent you.
