Absolutely a lovely day with the bride and groom getting ready at the Pestana Palace, followed by the wedding and reception at the Vandelli Botanical Garden in Lisbon, beautifully decorated. A beautiful wedding day with family and friends gathered together on a warm day, full of emotion and happiness. It was a very beautiful day, far too hot for those expecting a mild late summer day, except that we were in the heart of the Alentejo region, at Herdade da Fita Preta, surrounded by vineyards and Alentejo hills as far as the eye could see. Christine and Nuno got married in the midst of Covid, and after 5 years they decided to renew their vows, this time in Nuno’s favorite region in Portugal, where they gathered their close family and friends. It was an honor to be a part of it! C // N Venue: @fitapreta.vinhos WP: @madebymarinaevents MUA: @ritarosapico.makeup Band&Dj: @your_jukebox by @mulherphotography
I am fortunate that my work allows me to travel to beautiful places and meet wonderful people. Madeira has already won my heart for some time now, and the people of Madeira continue to show me how incredible they are. The way they welcome visitors, the care they give, what they give of themselves to each person and every detail – it’s always a pleasure to photograph alongside such fantastic teams. Joana and Francisco, my dears, I love you both, and it was an honor to be a part of your day! While I’m culling and editing the full gallery from this wedding, I’ve been thinking that I’m a wedding photographer, that my work is exclusively for the couples who hire me. Not for my portfolio, not for my colleagues, not for the occasional magazine I’d like to be featured in. There’s a reel of David Bowie (who I love) giving an interview about his rule of creativity that keeps popping up and makes me think. About an artist having to create for themselves and never for others. I understand and agree with what he says as far as he’s concerned. But I can’t consider myself an artist in that sense; my work serves others, to create memories for others, and so I literally have to create for them, taking into account their expectations and the importance of their day. It’s not for me, it’s not about me. And I think that when it's done like this, anything is possible! And I’m so happy while I’m doing it! It’s always beautiful when we see people who recognize and value their roots. When we realize that distance doesn’t erase where we came from. When you’re born Portuguese, even if you’re far from the country of your ancestors, it’s hard to escape the Portuguese soul. The love for food, for wine, for cozy landscapes and mild climate, for fado and folklore. For sharing everything you love and everything that defines you with those who are part of your life. What a beautiful day they had! Canadian residents with Australian souls, lovers of beaches and waves, passionate about Portugal, its food and its people. They gathered their family and friends at the incredible @vandelli.pt Botanical Garden in Lisbon on a warm day. They chose the church, for their faith in life and love, celebrating in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere in one of Lisbon’s most beautiful spots. I am grateful to have captured their day and for our paths having crossed. I have so much to say about this day… It was one of the most spectacular days I’ve ever had photographing a wedding, a warm day in Sintra, an incredibly lovely and fun couple who made us feel like family. The @nomad.eventos team that makes everything easy and smooth. The incredible work of the @babelbloom team is always a privilege to see and photograph. Having @rarusfilms on video and @pauloremediosfotografia providing incredible help with the analog images… guarantees endless laughter and a result that shows the happiness we find in what we do and the incredible day we were honored to be a part of! It was very special to see Catarina realize her dream and marry the love of her life, in the place where she so often makes the dreams of other couples come true. On that special day, they felt at home, because of the place, the people, the feelings. It was a privilege to capture that day and to feel at home too. A beautiful day in the sunny Algarve with a mix of cultures captured in a blend of digital and film. A // T The Irish and Scottish families chose the peaceful village of Ferragudo as their second home; their love for Portugal, the food, the beaches… they couldn’t have their wedding anywhere else and welcome their friends from all over the world to a place so important to the couple! The day was filled with relaxation, lots of shared smiles, tears of joy, and heartfelt hugs. On the warm Ferragudo beach, there was no shortage of music and partying late into the night.
