🩸✨ **Breaking the Taboo: Ensuring Women's Health**

Did you know that only 36% of India's menstruating women have access to sanitary napkins? For many underprivileged women, menstrual health takes a back seat, especially during tough times like job losses. Poor menstrual hygiene not only leads to infections but also puts them at risk of serious diseases like Hepatitis B and cervical cancer.

In rural areas, young girls often resort to unhygienic methods like using sand-filled socks or old cloth during menstruation due to lack of access to sanitary pads.

To address this gap, MUMBAI HELP, in partnership with Morpheus Consulting, is stepping up. We're donating over 500 sanitary pads to 250 households in slums across Sion, Wadala, and Matunga areas. Our "Women Care Box" will include essentials like sanitary pads, soap, sanitizer, masks, and a sweet treat. We would hold this event on 11th MAY 2024.

Did you know that only 36 percent of India’s 336 million menstruating women have access to sanitary napkins?

For underprivileged women, feeding themselves has become a question mark because of job losses. During times like this, their menstrual health is relegated to the background. Poor menstrual hygiene can result in fungal and bacterial infections across the reproductive and urinary tract. They are also at the risk of Hepatitis B and cervical cancer.

Most female school children from rural areas got access to sanitary pads only from their schools. They end up practising unhygienic methods like filling up socks with sand and tying them around their waists in the hope that it will absorb menstrual blood, using old pieces of cloth, reusing the same material, and using dried leaves, newspapers, etc.

To tackle the lack of access, MUMBAI HELP in association with Morpheus Consulting is planning to donate more than 500 sanitary pads for more than 250 houses based out of slums in Sion, Wadala, Matunga area. We would try and make this as “WOMEN CARE BOX” which would include Sanitary pads, Soap, Sanitizer, Mask and chocolate.

Mumbai Help is a movement which symbolises “Mumbaikars” — people coming together selflessly and helping those in need. We have partnered with Morpheus Consulting which is a premium recruitment company based in Mumbai and Dubai. Morpheus Consulting has always been a prime supporter of Women Empowerment projects and is evident in their business model which has more than 80% women stakeholders.

Mumbai Help shares stationery kits for the underprivileged kids in Mahakali Caves in Andheri East area of Mumbai. We managed this effort with the help of our local spoc Uttam Shinde. We discovered that many deserving kids who have the potential to excel have been left behind due to lack of resources. This was our first project with this community and we intend to do many more in the future. Looking forward to your support.
