Honouring Black communities in Health Research means involving participants from the beginning. That’s the message from @rachael.buabeng , founder of @mummys_day_out and a member of our Community Research Collaborative. Rachel got into research to make sure Black mothers’ voices, insight and experiences are embedded in research and findings. She states that communities described as “hard to reach” are often not being engaged where they are, or in the way they need to be. Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your story. 🙏🏾 #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM2026 #CommunityResearch #CoProduction #SouthEastLondon #Mabadiliko by @mummys_day_out

The votes are in! Our next book club read is The Talk of the Party by @foagbaje. This one sounds juicy! 😍 📅 Our virtual meetup will be on 6th Nov hosted by our book club partners Lysette & Sadari from @ourlitlibrary. When we meet, we'll chat about our thoughts, share favourite quotes or moments, and just enjoy a chat. As always, there is no pressure to finish the book by the meet, read as much as you can. We're busy mummas, so remember the audiobook is always an option, too. Do what works for you 🥰 Happy reading! Swipe to see what other books we have read. 👌🏾 If you want to join our book club, drop us a comment or DM, and we will send you an invitation! For more updates and reviews of children's and adult books on insta, follow @ourlitlibrary 🥰 #mumbookclub #bookclub #mummysdayout by @mummys_day_out
Mums build businesses. Raise families. Hold communities together. We deserve to feel supported too. 💪🏽❤️ Connecting with the women behind @mummys_day_out @rachael.buabeng and @pixiestudioessex got the ideas flowing! Community support for mums. A local business creating memorable girls’ parties, me bringing women’s health, fitness and @strikeback.south.essex self-defence into the conversation. Different businesses. A shared passion for helping women and girls thrive. For me, it all connects: having the energy for your busy life, the confidence to use your voice and practical skills to help you feel safer. This is why collaboration matters. When we bring our skills and spaces together, we can open more doors for local women. Excited to see where these conversations lead. ❤️ Local mums—what would you love us to bring to your community? by @mummys_day_out

#fFoundercam I had the absolute honour of speaking at the Baby Lifeline Conference as a member of the National Maternity and Neonatal Taskforce & Founder of Mummy’s Day Out. To everyone who came up to me afterwards, told me how much they enjoyed hearing me speak, and to those who have already invited me to speak again — I appreciate you! A few things I wanted to leave people with: Personalised care. Continuity of carer — or even just continuity of care...Do I really need to say anything else? 👀 And when I was asked: “What can people do tomorrow to be part of the change?” My answer? PAUSE. Think about a time when you KNOW you gave really good care. What did that look and feel like? Start there. Then make the next contact with a mum or family truly count. See the person in front of you. Listen. Ask. Understand. Personalise. Lived experience matters. People with lived experience WANT to be part of the change — but it has to be genuine, valued, and properly resourced. And that includes funding the VCSE sector to do this work. I reminded us of the importance of closing the loop. Have you listened? Have you sought to understand? Have you worked WITH people and their voices to make change? Have you checked whether that change actually made a difference? And are you continuing to review it as communities and needs change? You could feel it in the room yesterday. People genuinely want this to be the moment things change — and change for good. Humble. Curious. Compassionate. Willing to listen, accept what has happened and do better. Because safer care isn't just something we talk about at conferences. I had to include the picture of Tashi who I met with the wonderful Sophie ...for those of you that know, you know I would never chat to no dog 🤣😅🤣😅 but honestly, she's is lovely. #BabyLifeline #MaternityCare #SaferMaternityCare #LivedExperience PersonalisedCare ContinuityOfCare Maternity CoProduction VCSE by @mummys_day_out
#bmmhw26 For many mums, Mummy’s Day Out has been a place to meet other women who understand, build friendships, get out of the house, laugh, talk, share experiences and find a sense of belonging. We’re sharing the real stories of mums in our community — because sometimes the thing that makes a difference is simply knowing you’re not alone. As one mum shared, she walked into her local library and a group of mums simply noticed her and said hello. That hello turned into friendships, community and a village. That’s why we do what we do. 🧡 If you’re looking for your tribe, join us at one of our events. If you know a mum who needs a village, send her our way. Our DMs are open reach out, say hello and come meet your people. #BlackMaternalMentalHealthWeek #MummysDayOut by @mummys_day_out
