@shaffymusic reached out and wanted to shoot this beautiful song while he’s in Kigali. The fact that he lives in Arizona, USA, a place known for beautiful landscapes, made me immediately think of creating something he couldn’t achieve back where he lives. I decided to go local: markets, communities and neighborhoods, the type of Kigali that is vanishing due to city expansion. Not the fancy type of videos we usually see.
I believe in a few years we might not have this type of vintage Kigali we grew up in. It was an opportunity to archive our childhood memories in a piece that will last forever.
The production was a bit challenging but honestly, it was the smoothest production I have ever directed. Big shout out to the whole team.
