A bad lip blush can affect much more than just the appearance of your lips. Some major disadvantages include:

* Uneven pigmentation — one side may heal darker or lighter than the other.
* Wrong colour choice — the healed colour may look too dark, too cool, too warm, or completely different from what you expected.
* Poor lip mapping — an incorrect outline can make the lips look asymmetrical or unnaturally shaped.
* Overworking the lips — excessive passes can cause unnecessary trauma, swelling and prolonged healing.
* Patchy results — pigment may heal unevenly, leaving some areas with little or no colour.
* Colour changes over time — poor pigment selection or technique can contribute to unwanted undertones as the pigment fades.
* Scarring or texture changes — overly aggressive work can damage the delicate lip tissue.
* Difficult correction — fixing a poorly done lip blush may require colour correction, multiple sessions, or in some cases professional removal.

The biggest lesson: lip blush isn’t simply about adding colour. Mapping, pigment selection, colour theory, technique, skin/lip assessment and proper healing knowledge all matter.

Shading the Outer Edge (The Contour Zone)Tight Shading Pass: Starting right at the lip border, use a 1RL or 3RL needle at a 90-degree angle to build definition. Work in tiny, compact 1 cm sections using very short, tight, and repetitive strokes.

Color Packing: Keep your hand movements close together near the border to firmly pack the deeper color. This establishes the dark base of your gradient.
