MUNers Across Borders proudly presents our very own, one-of-a-kind Global Youth Summit 2026! Our core focus for the Summit this year is “AI Governance and Public Policy”, and it will be held on September 25th 2026 in Brussels, Belgium, from 10AM - 6PM.

At our Global Youth Summit, esteemed speakers will lead discussions and foster discourse on the impact of AI on public policy, as well as the challenges facing our policymakers in today’s digital world. Participants will be teamed up and challenged to present an improved policy through the Policy Pitch Competition, where they will propose solutions and receive constructive feedback from an esteemed panel of judges actively impacted by this change.

For collaborative application of practical skills, attendees will participate in a Model UN simulation, featuring a crisis structure and guided by experienced MUN professionals. Lastly, the Summit will conclude with a career fair, offering participants the opportunity to connect with organizations and professionals shaping the future of AI governance and public policy.

Pre-registration for the Summit now OPEN, and the link is in our bio - along with more details on the exciting programs within our event! Secure your spot NOW so you don’t miss out on everything this experience has to offer!

The wait is over, we're thrilled to welcome our keynote speaker for the 2026 Global Youth Summit - Michiel Van Cauwelaert! ✨

Michiel Van Cauwelaert is president of YES-Europe (Young leaders in Energy & Sustainability), a youth-led non-profit organization active across Europe with the mission of accelerating the energy transition by empowering young people to connect, lead, learn, and take action. The community spans more than 25 countries, bringing together the next generation of energy leaders across Europe. They work through hands-on projects, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and policy and advocacy activities, including representing youth perspectives at COP. Through conferences, events, and networking activities, they bring the community together and create opportunities for learning, collaboration, and engagement across the energy sector.

In his professional life, he works as an R&D Engineer for a Berlin-based start up company, building technologies for affordable, scalable and sustainable e-fuel production, to enable net-zero aviation. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Ghent University, where he focused on upscaling chemical looping processes for CO2 conversion. Before joining YES-Europe, he was president of Humasol, an international solidarity organization that aims to make renewable energy, water, and sustainable technology accessible to everyone.

We are definitely looking forward to Michiel's insightful presentation on the impacts of AI on Youth and Education at the Summit! It's giving... must attend 👀
