The 6th Annual Essex County Cider Donut Dirt Randonnée is back!

100ish miles. 50ish miles. The concept remains beautifully unnecessary: connect some of the best cider donut spots in Essex County using as much dirt as we can possibly find along the way.

The full route is a BIG day - plan on 8-10 hours. The shorter route still brings plenty of adventure and usually lands around 4 hours.

Start + finish at Munroe Velo in Topsfield.

Arrive 7:30ish. Roll at 8am sharp.

One change this year: registration is $15 (donuts not included).

Last year’s turnout was MASSIVE, and as the ride has grown, so have the costs of putting it on... insurance, porta potties, beer, pizza, and all the other behind-the-scenes stuff that makes the day happen. Your $15 helps us keep this thing rolling and make it an even better day for everyone.

Self-supported. Not a race. Definitely a little ridiculous.

Excited to share that we’ve been named Best of the North Shore by @northshoremag ... for the second year in a row.

A huge thank you to @edwardstapel , @finnsinsigalli and @joshgreenemtb who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep this place running and your bikes rolling.

And to this community, this award is really for you. Thanks for trusting us with your bikes, for stopping by to chat, for showing up week after week on our Thursday Night Group rides (even if we somehow roll back to the shop hours after dark... or discover halfway through that “chance of showers” actually means biblical downpour).

It’s been quite the journey the last few years, and we’re still just getting started!

Here’s to another great year of bikes and plenty of great rides.

WHAT. A. DAY. 🍩 🚲

Six years ago, this was just Noah’s crazy idea to ride bikes through the woods and stop for cider donuts along the way.

Yesterday, over 200 riders from every New England state and beyond showed up to be part of it.

Pretty incredible.

To everyone who tackled the 50 or 100 miles, thank you. We know these routes aren’t easy, and seeing so many people come together for a day of adventure means more to us than you know.

A special thank you to @nleavitt44 for dreaming this up and to the many people who helped make this year’s ride possible (especially @bestdaybrewing and @downeastcider for the post ride refreshments)

We’re incredibly lucky to be part of this community. Already can’t wait for next year.

The 6th Annual Cider Donut Dirt Randonnée is almost here! 🍎🍩

A little gravel, a lot of rocks, some questionable route choices, and plenty of donuts along the way.

We’ve put together some FAQs to help you know what you’re getting yourself into this Sunday. Whether you’re tackling the 50ish or 100ish miles, give these a read before you roll!

A few important things: This is a self-supported adventure, the routes are NOT marked, and North Shore gravel is not for the faint of heart (but that’s half the fun).

Swipe through, save for later, and get those bikes ready.

If you’ve spent enough time in Willowdale, you know the car. A 1976 Chevy Chevette. A local landmark. An icon. A legend.

But after 30+ years in the woods… the rumors are true… the Chevette is gone.

DCR may have pulled the car out, but we couldn’t let it disappear completely. So we teamed up with local artist @ynot_create and @luckyhousemfg to immortalize a piece of North Shore History.
