School Town of Munster administrators and School Board members attended the 77th ISBA Annual Fall Conference, October 5–6 in Indianapolis. This year’s theme, “Leading at the Speed of Change,” provided opportunities to learn, collaborate and explore ideas that support strong leadership and continued growth in our schools. Representing STM were: • Dr. Ingrid Schwarz Wolf, School Board President • Mr. John Castro, School Board Member • Kristen Smith, School Board Secretary • Dr. Matthew Hicks, Superintendent • Ms. Amy Yoos, Director of Elementary Education • Dr. Ryan Erdelac, Director of Secondary Education • Ms. Brianne Oliver, Director of Exceptional Achievers We appreciate our leaders’ commitment to continued learning and bringing new ideas and perspectives back to the School Town of Munster. #WeAreMunster by @munsterhs

MHS Choir Presents: “After the Rain” Join the Munster High School Choir for its first concert of the year on Wednesday, October 7, at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium! “After the Rain” will feature music inspired by storms—and the people who help us weather them and find hope in their wake. The program includes works by Sarah Quartel, Frank Ticheli, and Sarah T. Tullock, along with favorites like Wichita Lineman and Big Yellow Taxi. Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up! Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 22, from 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held across the School Town of Munster. Students will participate in asynchronous eLearning that day and will not report to school in person. Additional details regarding conferences and eLearning expectations will be shared by each school principal and teacher. We have some PAW-some news to share! Congratulations to Shadow, Rosie and Ernie, our three elementary comfort dogs, who recently earned their STAR Puppy titles from Landheim Training Center. These lovable Lab puppies and their dedicated handlers have been hard at work training toward their therapy dog certifications. Each puppy will serve one of our three elementary schools, providing another way to support and connect with our students and staff. A special thank you to their handlers, who are also STM staff members and have taken on the additional commitment of training and caring for these special pups. And their training doesn’t stop there! Shadow, Rosie and Ernie are also learning tracking skills. We’re excited to watch them grow, learn and become part of our elementary school communities! #WeAreMunster by @munsterhs

Want to feel good and hear the animals talk for awhile? Then come see MTC's production of CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Performances are October 1 and 2 at 7 PM and October 3 at 2 PM. As a way to support our community as we recover from the storms, all tickets to this event will be "pay what you can." As you reserve your tickets you can opt to make a donation to our theatre program to continue providing high quality experiences for both our students and our community! Also, we encourage all attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to the show. We will be collecting to help restock the local food pantries!
