I think it’s time for a proper introduction post, and today is my 30th birthday, so this seems like a great time to introduce myself.
My name is Christian, I love music, The Muppets, and Disney Parks. Music has been a big part of my life as long as I can remember, and I’ve been a vinyl collector for over a decade now. I’ve always been a casual Muppet enjoyer, but in the last 3-4 years, I’ve really realized the Muppets encapsulate so many things I love. They’re a mix of art, technology, performance, comedy, music, and so much more and I just love it all.
I started this account to post some of my favorite Muppet Music and share some of my Muppet/Muppet Adjacent vinyl. I’m working on some video content I hope to have ready soon 🤞🏼
I also just want to say thank you to everyone that has followed and made me feel so welcome in the community! And to my wife and kids for putting up with me never shutting up about the Muppets 😂 by @muppetrecordclub

NEW OLD MUPPET MEDIA ALERT!
The original unaired Muppet Show Pilot was uploaded to archive.org today!
This is huge, It’s not often that we get New Old Muppet material. Im at work right now, and dont have time to watch the full thing, but I can’t wait to watch it all later and compare it to the final episode!

“Episodes 101 and 102 of The Muppet Show were both shot as pilots in late January 1976, several months before regular production of the show began in May of that year. These pilots were never aired, and the episodes were reworked during the regular production window. When the episodes were reworked, several sketches were abbreviated or cut entirely, and new footage was taped. All material featuring the guest stars, however, was shot during the initial production window, although on several occasions, different takes were used in the final versions of the episode from those used in the pilots.”

The World Cup really does bring everyone together, including The Muppet and Sesame Street families! It’s so good to see these two Henson families together again. I wish they would have had a bigger part, but it was really good to see them there at all!

Playlist Update!
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time you’ve probably picked up that absolutely love Weird Al. He came through my town on his Bigger and Weirder tour this week so of course I had to be there. It was an amazing experience and I think everyone should try to see him at least once. In my excitement for the show I listened through his entire discography last week and made a playlist of my favorite song from each of his 14 studio albums (plus his latest single to make the playlist an even 15) I know I usually keep these playlists to 10 songs, but I make the rules so I get to break them 😂 Anyways, Enjoy my favorite Weird Al songs and feel free to tell me how wrong I am for not picking your favorite in the comments by @muppetrecordclub

What a perfect song for Gonzo! Act Naturally was originally recorded by Buck Owens in 1963. The song went on to be a big hit and was recorded by many other artists, most notably the Beatles. As a kid, I knew this song from the Riders In The Sky version from the Woody’s Roundup CD that came out around the release of Toy Story 2. I listened to that album constantly, and this song was my favorite. So of course, I was pleasantly surprised to see Gonzo singing it as I watched The Muppet Show as an adult. This still stands out as one of my favorite Gonzo moments from the run of The Muppet Show. I’m genuinely surprised that this never made it onto any sort of Muppet compilation album.

Olivia is here to sing about the People In Our Neighborhood this week!
This whole clip I just kept thinking about how much the veterinarian looks like a Kermit with a wig on. Does anyone else see it? They must have used a similar pattern for her head, or maybe she really is just an extra Kermit.
