#reels #are #too #real #🙌🏾 There were nights… so many nights, when I lay on a cold steel bunk in my cell, and I prayed. Not the kind of prayer you say before dinner. The kind you scream into a pillow so the guards don’t hear. The kind that comes out as tears when you don’t even have words anymore.I prayed for freedom. I prayed to hold my daughter.I prayed to see my mother’s face without glass between us. Them nights felt like drowning in slow motion. Like watching your own life happen to everybody else while you stay frozen in a nightmare you can’t wake up from… I was alive—but I wasn’t living.
I was breathing, but I was suffocating.
I was a father, but I couldn’t father.People moved on. Seasons changed. Kids grew up. And I stayed stuck in a box, praying to a God I couldn’t see, asking Him why. Why me? Why this? Why couldn’t anybody see the truth? There were nights I wanted to give up. Nights I questioned everything. Nights I wondered if God even heard me.
But I kept pushing.
