Two detectives put a stack of mugshots in front of a psychic. No names, no hints. He pulled out the two men who did it.

🚨 EPISODE 125 IS LIVE!

In 1988, a 74-year-old woman named Rose Swartwood was murdered in her apartment in Elmira, New York. Rose was the kind of neighbor who'd keep you talking for an hour on your way to the store, and who spent every single evening at her little sister's house. Whoever killed her stayed afterward to scrub the walls and floors clean.

Police believed they knew who did it for almost two years, but couldn't prove it. So they called a psychic. And what he described, things that were never in the papers, led police to two cold hearted monsters with zero regard for human life.

A psychic flipped through a stack of mugshots with no names on them, and pulled out the two killers.

In 1988, 74-year-old Rose Swartwood was murdered in her apartment in Elmira, New York. She was gentle, talkative, always perfectly dressed, and devoted to her little sister. Whoever killed her stayed long enough to scrub the whole apartment clean.

Police were sure they knew who did it. They just could not prove it. So they handed a psychic a pile of photos and told him nothing, and he described things that were never made public.

Ed continues October’s “Psychic Connections” block with a tale that’ll leave you questioning your own beliefs.

At the heart of every single murder story is a person who was someone's daughter, sister, mother, son, father, brother... They had a favorite color. A favorite band. A way they liked to dress. And every time their name appears in the footnotes of a salacious story, it glorifies what happened to them, not who they were before they were taken by evil.

Keep spreading the word.
Keep sharing these stories.
But think about who you're really talking about, and present it as if their family is your only audience.

She was one of the fastest teenagers in America. She wanted the Olympics.

Shilie Turner was seventeen, a top-five high school runner in the country, filling out college applications and running everywhere she went. One freezing night in January 1993, she got off a bus six blocks from home in West Philadelphia and never made it to her door.

Police had no leads and no body, until the FBI suggested a psychic. What she described was so exact, and pointed somewhere so painful, that it broke the case open.

Melissa opens Psychic Connections, our October block, with Shilie's story. This one has no happy ending.

He led the case on the worst arson spree in American history, wrote the books other investigators keep on their desks, and has spent decades doing one of the hardest jobs in law enforcement.

He also weighs in on John Orr and Paul Keller, and explains why almost everything people believe about arsonists is wrong.
