Grasping at Straws, 2025
Acrylic on canvas

———

“Jerusha’s visual vocabulary combines psycho-physical anatomy with terrestrial elements, creating a language to explore the manifestation of impulse in the human condition. In Grasping at Straws, the artist investigates themes of longing and release, culminating in a dream-like scene of acceptance and rebirth.” — jojo devellis taken in Brooklyn, New York by @muriiho

Midas Touch, 2026
Acrylic on canvas

“The namesake of the piece serves as a cautionary tale in getting everything you ever wanted. Midas Touch explores the moment before, the anticipation of a goal, and the growth that comes from never reaching the finish line. Suspended in the breath before contact, we are given pause to ask if the pain is great enough to warrant the reward.” by @muriiho
