Something I’m genuinely proud to share…

I’ve officially completed the @petetong_djacademy DJ Course 🎓🔥

I’ve been DJing at home for years, but playing out and putting myself out there only really started in 2024.

That was when I decided to take things seriously, challenge myself and invest in my DJing, which led me to the Pete Tong DJ Academy.

Since then, the journey has been pretty incredible.

From my first gigs and building FOMO, to radio shows, new venues, developing my own sound and eventually finding myself playing in Ibiza 🇪🇸❤️

Something I honestly never imagined when I was just DJing in my bedroom.

Getting this certificate and seeing the feedback from the academy feels like a really special milestone.

⭐️ 5/5 Artistic Coherence
⭐️ 5/5 Overall Performance

There’s still loads I want to learn and improve, but that’s what makes this journey exciting.

This certificate isn’t the end of the journey. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come since 2024.

From the bedroom, to the booth, to Ibiza. ❤️🎧

And I genuinely feel like I’m only just getting started.

Some moments mean more than words can explain. 🇮🇧❤️

I remember coming to Café del Mar years ago, watching the sunset and dreaming about what it would feel like to one day be part of it.

To now stand behind those decks and play my music here… honestly, it feels surreal.

One of those moments I’ll carry with me forever. 🥹🌅

Dreams really do come true. ❤️

I turned 46 in May, and just a month later, @cafedelmar celebrated its 46th anniversary. To think that our paths would cross in the same year, and that I’d have the opportunity and honour of standing behind the decks at a place I’ve held so close to my heart for so many years… honestly, it’s hard to put into words.

I still remember being there all those years ago, watching the sunset and dreaming about what it would be like to play there one day. Never in a million years did I imagine that dream would actually become a reality.

Café del Mar will always hold a very special place in my heart now. 🇮🇧🌅

I just hope this wasn’t the last time… because I’d love nothing more than to come back and do it all again. ❤️ by @murph._official

This week we’re switching things up and putting the spotlight on Mood Funk Records

A label that delivers exactly what the name suggests: funk, groove and serious House music. 🕺

Still feels unreal that I got the opportunity to play in IBIZA this summer… not once, but TWICE! 🇪🇸☀️🔥

Two incredible opportunities, unforgettable vibes, and memories I’ll carry with me for a long time. To be able to do what I love, in a place that’s so iconic for House music, is something I’ll never take for granted. ❤️🎶

Sometimes you have to stop, take it all in and realise just how far you’ve come. This summer was definitely one for the books! 🙌🏼

IBIZA, you’ve been special. Now let’s see what 2027 has in store… BIGGER DREAMS, BIGGER MOVES! 🌴🚀

🔥 THE CLUBS THAT MADE ME — #003

GATECRASHER — SHEFFIELD

Then came Gatecrasher.

If Progress was where my love of clubbing started, and Passion took things up another level…

Gatecrasher was something else.

Around 1999/2000, Sheffield became another regular destination for me.

The club was actually The Republic, but by this point everyone knew it simply as Gatecrasher.

And what a place it was.

The music.

The lasers.

The atmosphere.

The people.

That feeling when you walked through the doors knowing you were in for one hell of a night.

This was the era of the Crasher Kids and some seriously big DJs.

Scott Bond.
Matt Hardwick.
Judge Jules.
Paul van Dyk.
Sasha.
Tiesto.
Ferry Corsten.

The line-ups were ridiculous.

Gatecrasher wasn’t just another club night either.

It had its own identity. Its own sound. Its own following.

And being there during that period was a massive part of my clubbing journey.

No smartphones.

No Instagram.

No TikTok.

No filming everything.

You were actually THERE.

You lived it.

You remembered the tunes because you had to.

And when you hear one of those tracks today…

You’re instantly transported back.

For me, these years were massively important.

The clubs I was going to were shaping my taste in music and, without really knowing it at the time, shaping the DJ I would eventually become.

Progress.
Passion.
Gatecrasher.

Three very different places.

One journey.

And we’re only getting started…

🔥 CLASSIC HOUSE TUESDAY

This one takes us right back to the roots of UK rave culture. 🔥

Originally created by Orbital in 1989, the original became one of the defining sounds of the early rave era, built around that instantly recognisable synth hook and hypnotic 909 rhythm.

Nearly two decades later, The Shapeshifters gave it their own house treatment, bringing that iconic sound into the dancefloors of the late 2000s.

Released through Defected in 2008, their version kept the spirit of the original but gave it a deeper, more polished house feel perfect for those late-night sets.

It’s one of those records where you hear the first few seconds and instantly know what’s coming…
