An incredible week for these guys & their families as dreams were realized! The NFL Draft is officially in the books - now the real fun begins… #FinsUp #GoHawks by @murphy.mcguire

I’ve tried over and over to find the words for this, and there simply aren’t any that feel right. It is with a heavy heart to share the news of the sudden passing of my daddy, David Jones (David, Dave, Doc, Pastor Dave, Dad, PaPa). Dad went to see the Lord on September 17, 2026.

This was so sudden. So unexpected. The kind of phone call, the kind of moment, that you never think will be yours. For a man who loved life so fiercely, who always said he wanted to live to 110, 70 years was simply not enough.

My daddy loved life. He loved people. He loved his family. And he loved my mom more than anything in this world.

Dad passed peacefully in his sleep next to his beautiful bride, the love of his life. And while there is so much heartbreak in that moment, there is also something I will forever hold onto, that the man who spent his life loving my mom got to spend his final moments right beside her.

Mom and I were blessed with an angel on earth when we were given Dad. I truly believe that. To have a man like him as your husband, your dad, your best friend, your person… is one of the greatest gifts God could have ever given us.

He was our everything. But the thing about Dad was that his heart was never just ours. His heart was enormous. Bigger than any room he walked into, bigger than any words could ever explain. He had a way of making people feel like they mattered. And he didn’t have to know you for very long, sometimes he didn’t have to know you at all. If someone needed help, Dad was there. If someone needed advice, Dad had it. If someone needed a hand, he gave it. He would do absolutely anything for the people he loved, and somehow he found a way to do the same for people he had just met.

I wasn’t ready to lose you, Daddy. None of us were.

I hope you knew, just how incredibly loved you were.I hope you knew that being your daughter was the greatest honor of my life. And now we have to walk through this one without you. I don’t know how. But I know we will. Because you taught us how. I love you more than I could ever put into words. Ride free, Dad. Until we see you again. 🤍
