things i’d stop paying for if i was starting a business tomorrow..

no gatekeeping here. you DO NOT need a £300 per month marketing tech stack to grow your business 🙅🏻‍♀️

you don’t need every subscription or new tool, and you definitely don’t need to spend money just because someone on linkedin said you should.

some of the best tools are completely free, and most small businesses already have access to more data and functionality than they realise.

here are a few tools i wouldn’t rush to pay for, and what i’d use instead! ✨

hiiii, i’m holly 👋🤍

the face behind Murphy Marketing (and the person who spends far too much time thinking about content ideas).

i’m based just outside manchester and have lived here my whole life. by day, i’m a marketing manager for a business finance broker. by night, i’m usually working on a creative project, reading something booktok told me to, or convincing myself i definitely need another hobby.

currently rotating between:
🎨 painting
🧶 crocheting
📝 writing
🎮 gaming
🍪 baking
💍 planning my 2028 wedding

and of course, spending time with the real CEO of the business, murphy 🐾

he’s my german shepherd, he’s nearly 10, and he’s the reason Murphy Marketing exists. let’s be honest, if i was going to build something of my own, it was always going to be named after my favourite boy 🤍

i started this little venture because i’ve always loved marketing, creativity, and helping people bring their ideas to life.

i know so many small business owners have amazing products, services and ideas, but no clue where to start when it comes to marketing. and honestly? that’s exactly who i want to help.

whether that’s creating content for you, helping you build a plan, or just sharing tips that make marketing feel a little less overwhelming.

this page is basically a mix of:
✨ marketing
✨ creativity
✨ small business support
✨ behind-the-scenes
✨ and me figuring out what happens when you finally stop saying “i should do that one day” and actually do it 😅

if you’re new here, i’m so glad you’ve found your way to my little corner of the internet 🤍

a little announcement..

i’ve officially launched Murphy Marketing 🤎

after years of working in marketing (and constantly telling myself i’m going to do this 👀), I’ve finally decided to build something of my own.

named after our german shepherd, Murphy, this is a bit of a passion project for me that’s been sitting in my notes app for MONTHS.

i’m not quitting my day job. i’m not building an agency.

i’m building something that’s actually quite personal. a place where i can help small business owners who know marketing matters, but don’t always know where to start or have the budget for it.

because let’s be honest… when you’re busy running a business, social media, emails, blogs and branding usually end up waaaay at the bottom of that to do list.

and when you DO look for help, it can feel overwhelming (or ridiculously expensive 😬)

whether you need someone to take it off your hands, help you create a plan or simply give you the tools and confidence to go and do it yourself, that’s where I come in 🫶🏻

this page will be a mix of:
💡 marketing tips and ideas
💭 content inspo
💌 behind the scenes of building a freelance business
🎨 creative projects
🤎 and hopefully plenty of support for fellow small business owners and marketers

here’s to something with heart.
