There are versions of you that exist only in certain places.

As someone who was raised between countries, cultures and languages, it was difficult to find my identity.

But maybe it isn’t something that you need to choose or define. Maybe it is build and shaped by all the experiences you make. By all the versions of yourself.

It will forever be a miracle to me how people who never met before can synchronize in a dance.

As follower I always feel challenged with an advanced dancer. I am thinking about my timing, frame, the connection and my body alignment. Sometimes though my body just works on memory and I am able to fully connect with the music and leader. I noticed that advanced dancer are super musical and really want to transfer this into the partnerwork. For us followers it means that we need to wait. Keep fundamental techniques, do not rush, let him lead you into the accents and breaks and if there is space, you can add your own interpretation. I feel the more you advance, the more important it is to not rush and stay calm, grounded and aware.

Thank you @denny_imperiale for not only being a inspiring professional but also such a good social dancer.

Let me know what helps you when dancing with advanced dancers? 🫶🏼

without ever making you feel like you can’t leave it.
