The wedding ring collection was thoughtfully designed to have a wedding ring design to meet all needs. Sometimes couples want two different wedding rings, and why not when we have our unique personalities after all. However they are bound by a warm and grounding aesthetic and the sandcast texture.

Each wedding ring is completely unique, a work of art, no mass production, no clones, just present craftwomanship and love poured into your beautiful gold ring.

Here are some rings I made this week. If you’d love gifts like these on your fingers in December, get organised and tell your loved ones your ring sizes now, send them the posts and links of your favourite Musa Mundi jewellery.

Every year I speak with frantic relatives at the last minute in December who can’t get go ahead with their ring order in time because they don’t know the size. If you let them know your ring size now, it will feel like a surprise anyway by Christmas. ✨

Artists wear a lot of hats and one of my favourites is my great grandmother’s head scarf. What a way to ground. The season of the witch is here, in Musa Mundi world it lasts all year round. 🔮🧙‍♀️

Snippets of reactions. I love seeing how the students react as they open the cast, there is tension and excitement and relief. Don’t be fooled though, sometimes we open the cast and it’s not what we want, the stone has moved, the metal didn’t flow all the way. These things happen too.

Sandcasting is very technical, the conditions must be perfect to get the result you want. Sometimes we hesitate as we pour and in a second the cast is ruined. You need confidence and discipline to get where you want to go.

I still have 2 spaces on this Friday’s course, if you are feeling creatively spontaneous come join us and let’s get freaky with the gems. (‘Friki’ in Spanish means nerdy - not what you thought. Haha)

The inspiration for this piece came from the book The Mountain is You by @briannawiest. I bought it the day I got the keys for my workshop, feeling vulnerable at the beginning of a mountainous journey of expansion. I used it as a companion through an intensely beautiful yet challenging time.

The journey up the mountain serves as a metaphor for the journey into the psyche. Each peak reveals a new way of seeing as well as the depth of the challenge that remains ahead. The path is hard yet transformative as it teaches us to release the layers of ourselves which can not carry us forward: self doubt, fear, limiting beliefs, perfectionism. These temporal lessons fuel eternal wisdom giving us internal capacity to unfold a life of freedom and becoming.

There are so many aha moments reading her book, it serves as a mirror to show you the parts of yourself you missed, a tool for tender growth as you break free from the numerous patterns of self sabotage. I read it so slowly as to brew on each page and take it all in.

The ring is textured and rugged but not sharp, each one unique with its own grooves and forms. All slow crafted here at my workbench with slowness and intention.

I’m romantically involved with rings. I just can’t help myself. Here’s a little ruby ring I made yesterday. I’m thinking creative portal, divine feminine, shakti, inner power, you know where I’m going with this.

There’s something different about this particular ring, the ruby is… synthetic. 🫢 That means the mineral composition is that of a ruby but it was not mined from the earth. Now I’m not going to get into a thesis about which is better or worse. I love land mined gemstones, they have an energetic allure for me, but I chose to work with a synthetic stone simply because I bought these for my gemstone sandcasting workshops and I just loved the shape and colour of this little lady and I can not source the same in an ethical traceable mined version. When you work with ethically sourced gems you are limited to availability, shape, colour etc. That is all.

I won’t be transferring over to synthetics, I love the gems I work with but she was just cute and I wanted to put her in this design.

The ring is not in the shop yet, but will be soon. DM if you want to preorder.

What a combination! Alexandrite and gold. 🤤 As usual we’re in the depths of introspection over here. A tiny eye to come home to yourself, to trust yourself, to hear yourself. Jewellery was never about simply adornment but the energy it stirs within, the power it instills, the meaning that you place so intimately on your physical being.

Alexandrite is rare and more valuable than diamonds. A watery stone with tiny speckles of colour swirling inside. It brings you home, balances you, and invites you to reconnect.

The best part of the sandcasting workshops (for me) is seeing what you come up with. Your very unique inner artist works with determination to materialise something so deeply personal to you.

And I think for the students the best part is watching the process unfold and their physical amulet materialise in front of their eyes. It brings a child like wonder which is very satisfying to observe. It’s that exact wonder that leaves me hooked on this technique as you open each cast it’s a surprise.
